Chapter 3734
Yvette trembled as she slowly made her way toward him. Her exquisite face was filled with disbelief. "Darry, is it really you? I... I'm not dreaming, am I?"
She stroked his face while her yearning eyes looked at him.
"It’s me, Yvette..." His voice wavered as he pulled her toward him. It took him an immense amount of effort to keep his tears in.
Those three years must have been hard on her as she had lost too much weight. 2
When she heard his voice, Yvette could not keep in it anymore, she jumped into his arms and wept loudly. "I thought I'd never see you again. I miss... miss you so much!"
Three years. Three, whole. Years.
She had spent the first two years sitting in the Carters' garden, reminiscing the times she had with Darryl, hoping against all odds that he was still alive somewhere and that he would come back to her one day.
However, when the third year came, she stopped hoping. It was not until a month ago that her hope was rekindled when Yuri told them that Darryl was still alive, and ever since then, she had been looking forward to that day.
All her longing transformed into tears.
"There, there..." Darryl hugged her closer to him, trying to assuage the guilt in his heart.
Yvonne, Shannon, Debra, Irene, and the others also could not hold it in anymore, and they all jumped on him, hugging him, crying tears of joy when they felt the warmth of his skin. 6
Like Yvette, they had missed him so much. The women could not help themselves when the man they had been dreaming about had suddenly returned. 'He's alive. He's still alive!'
They hugged him even tighter as their bodies trembled and the tears blurred their visions. 1
"I've missed you so much, dear hubby."
"I knew you were still alive! I dreamt about you every night."
"Darryl, our son's name is Goddad..."
