Chapter 3953

The loud whistling of wind passed through them as they fell into the cave. Terror gripped their throats.

It was a bottomless hole; would they die from the fall?

After about ten seconds, they had finally reached the bottom of the cave. They were fortunate, considering that they had fallen into the puddle of a swamp, breaking their fall.

However, half of the impact was enough for them to see stars. It had almost turned their insides out.

Chester was the first one to get a hold of himself. He looked around and asked, "Is everyone okay?"

At that moment, Chester shivered at the sight of something a short distance away. Dread shot through him.

"We’re alright!" the rest answered.

"What's going on, Brother Chester?" They asked again when they saw the change on Chester's face. They looked in the direction Chester was staring at; their legs wobbled with fear as panic seeped through them.

A short distance away, hidden in the dark, they were able to trace the outline of an enormous beast.

Measured at about 300 meters, it lay there like a small, breathing mountain. It was covered in scales that were shades of crimson and charcoal, with two horns attached to its head.

It was a scaled dragon.

Dread fogged their brains as they stood there in a daze of sheer panic.

They could not believe that a scaled dragon was living inside the mountain behind the Hidden Hero Sect's altar.

Chester and the rest knew that the scaled dragon was way more powerful and vigorous than the one they saw ten years ago at the Wild Deserted Secret Region. That scaled dragon was at its final stage of shedding its scales to transform into a dragon.

"I can't believe that so many people are here in this obscured cave. What a pleasant surprise!"

A deep, hoarse voice sounded before Chester and the rest could recover from their panic.

Who was that?

Chester, Zoey, and the rest looked toward the source of the sound, and they were stunned at what they had just witnessed.

The scaled dragon was seen with its bloodthirsty mouth wide open.

"The Hidden Hero Sect has been pretty kind to me lately. They must have known I am about to transform into a dragon and had sent you here so that I could absorb your cultivated powers."

The scaled dragon said as its eyes sparkled in anticipation.

The scaled dragon could speak.

Chester, Yvette, Zoey, and the rest were shocked. Devastation dawned on them upon hearing the scaled dragon's plan.

If their power were to be absorbed by the scaled dragon, they would become useless and powerless. They would be better off dead if it got to that point.

"Brother Chester!"

Everyone paused in silence for a second before Dax yelled, "We've been wandering in the world of cultivators for so many years, and we've never been in such an embarrassing situation before. It's just a dragon. Let's fight it!"

"And if we die here, Darryl will avenge us!"

Zoey and the others agreed.

"That's right; we're united as one! Even if we die, we shall die with dignity!"

Everyone spoke in a serious, deadpan face. Their hearts were ablaze with pure rage.

They were supposed to capture Skylar Blanc when they were at the Five Poison Sect's territory, which would have done the world a huge favor. They did not expect Grunt would lead the Heavenly Alliance to besiege the Carters for his own interests. That meant Skylar had managed to reap all the benefits in the end.
