Chapter 4098
A vicious battle broke out instantly between Grunt and Leia.
Clutching her longsword, Leia met Grunt's golden spear, attack after attack. It emitted a series of deafening clangs. Leia could still handle it at first, yet she was affected by fatigue a few rounds later.
Grunt had just been in a duel with Darryl, thus losing a lot of his fairy soul. How had he managed to have such power in a situation like that?
"You're no match for me, Lady Leia. You should give up while you can."
Grunt smirked at Leia's shocked expression, charging forward and bringing his palm down!
The blow appeared out of nowhere, and the cave was too narrow for Leia to dodge. In a moment of panic, she had no choice but to summon her energy to meet the attack.
Leia and Grunt's palms collided. With a dull hum, Leia was knocked backward as her face paled.
Grunt was stronger than her, after all. Leia was no match for him, especially in that last attack!
"You-"
All Leia could feel was an overwhelming dullness in her chest, keeping her from holding herself upright. She glowered at Grunt in shock and outrage.
Grunt was way too strong for her, indeed.
She was done for. She thought she could protect Darryl, but she could not do it.
Grunt sneered coldly at Leia with smugness written all over his face. "And I thought the White Tiger King's daughter would at least have something to show for her name. That's all you've got?"
Grunt rushed forward, quickly tapping on Leia's acupoint twice.
Leia froze instantly, unable to move any further.
Darryl could not contain his rage. He shouted at Grunt. "Let her go, you monster. Our personal grievances should not harm others.”
"Let her go?"
Grunt only sneered even more. "You don't have the right to talk to me right now." In another swift move, Grunt reached out to seal Darryl's acupoint as well.
Darryl tried to dodge his fingers. However, he was already wounded, so he could not do that.
’Grunt, you b*stard!"
Leia stood rooted, unable to move. Panic and rage flooded her senses when she saw Darryl's acupoint had been sealed as well. She bit her lips, roaring at Grunt from where she stood frozen. "I'm warning you, Grunt! Let us go now, lest my father has your head when he finds out." 3
However, Grunt only smiled at her. He did nothing.
Darryl took a deep breath. "Grunt. If you still count yourself a man, let her go. This has nothing to do with her." 1
"Oh, I didn't know you were so worried about her," Grunt mocked him. "The more you try to speak for her, Darryl, the less I want to let her go. I'd shut up if I were you."
"Honorable Master Darby."
Leia was overwhelmed with emotion. "Don't waste your breath on him.
He's not going to let US go! I've thought it through-it'll be worth it if I am to die with you."
Leia was practically pouring her soul into her words as she spoke.
When Leia admitted to herself that she was in love with Darryl two hours ago, she had been both happy and shy at the realization. At the same time, she felt shame, for she was nothing more than the White Tiger King's daughter. In terms of status, she could hardly hold a candle to Darryl.
When Darryl was in danger, Leia was conflicted between worry and gratitude again.
She was worried because Darryl was in grave danger, and there was nothing she could do to help.
She was thankful because she would be lucky enough to at least die with Darryl.
