Chapter 4621
Aurin scoffed coldly, not allowing any room for retaliation. "I don't care whose orders you're following. What if I refuse?’ "Then I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." The Godly Region's general spoke lightly; he refused to budge.
Aurin was outraged at the response. “You wouldn't dare!"
Aurin drew his long sword as he exploded with energy.
The General did not back down either. With a wave of his hand, a few soldiers surged forward to surround Aurin.
All at once, the air grew heavy with tension. It was as if a huge fight was about to break out.
Motherf*cker!
Darryl could not contain his anger as well.
Empress Heidi had gone too far. She had promised Lute Belle that she would fight fairly, yet she had shown such disrespect to Prince Aurin.
Darryl's chest ached with sympathy for Aurin as well.
Fortunately, Lute Belle appeared at the last second. He could not even begin to imagine the consequences of going against the ruthless Empress Heidi alone.
As he thought about that, Darryl only grew more sure of his decision.
Regardless of what it took, he would make Aurin the emperor.
"Come on, guys!"
Since both sides were about to start fighting, Darryl strode forward with a placating smile. 'We're family; we can't just fight like this!"
Darryl grinned and walked forward to hold Aurin's longsword down as he spoke. "Since Her Majesty wants to see me, I'll go. I heard she's an exceptional beauty, and I've been in awe of her for quite a while. It'd be great to see her in the flesh!"
Then, Darryl lowered his voice to say in a comforting tone, "Be patient, Prince Aurin. Hang in there; I'll be fine."
Aurin’s gaze flashed briefly before he finally put his longsword away.
Darryl heaved a sigh of relief.
Then, Darryl flashed a smile at the General. "Lead the way." "You're making the right decision to do as we say," the General scoffed coldly before turning away with the soldiers.
Even though he had seen Empress Heidi multiple times and even almost became her son-in-law, the sight of her still made him exclaim in awe.
The short period he had not seen her had only made her even more breathtaking.
Darryl's gaze displeased Empress Heidi greatly. She asked coldly, "You're who Lute Belle got for Aurin?" "That's right!"
Darryl came back to his senses, beaming. "I don't have much to brag about and honestly don't really care to take pupils, but my old friend Lute Belle had asked me, so I could not say no."
Darryl's expression was calm despite the unease in his chest.
Empress Heidi was a calculated woman. He was unsure whether she would trust his response or not.
Empress Heidi nodded, not suspecting anything at all. She continued to ask, "Well, what makes you worthy of that?"
She could hardly care about Darryl's identity; she only wanted to know if Aurin's new master had anything she should watch out for. After all, that might affect the competition that was coming up in a hundred days.
Darryl was an intelligent man; he had figured out what Empress Heidi meant right away. He smiled and said, "Well, that's a loaded question. I'm the best there is! There's hardly anything I can't do."
