Darryl brushed the dirt off his body. He moved toward the nearest town, intending to ask someone for directions.
Huh?
Darryl sensed something going on in his body, and he got the shock of his life.
'F*ck me.'
Why was his fairy soul locked up?
Darryl could clearly feel a strange energy radiating from his fairy soul. It caused him to be completely unable to release his fairy soul. His energy level was hardly more than a mortal human being…
How could that be?
Could it have been because the teleportation gateway had not been activated correctly in the Godly Region, and it caused some bizarre coincidence that led to his fairy soul being locked?
All at once, Darryl stood frozen in confusion.
Just as Darryl pondered to himself, a series of footsteps could be heard from behind him. At the same time, the cries of several people were heard as well.
"Quick, let's split up. We have to find him before dark."
"F*ck, the High Lady's wedding is just tomorrow. I can't believe we lost Derrick just the night before."
"Shh, keep it down! Derrick's going to be the High Lady's husband after tomorrow."
"Hoho. Useless bastard of a husband, if you ask me. God knows why the Grand Master wedded him to the High Lady. Probably to bring in good fortune in contrast to the High Lady being sick. Ugh, just thinking of his wretched face makes me sick. How could Derrick Darby be good enough for the High Lady?"
The voices grew in volume by the second. There had to be quite a number of people.
Derrick Darby?
Darryl could not help but frown to himself. The man those people were looking for also had the same last name, Darby, but he sounded like a total loser, married into a family to offset bad luck.
Upon some thought, Darryl realized that he, too, had been in the same position back then. Married into a powerful family and looked down upon.
As Darryl mumbled to himself, he was about to head down the mountain.
Just then, a group of people walked out from the forest behind him, dressed in black short-sleeved shirts. They appeared to be servants of a wealthy family, with the head of the group sporting a gray long-sleeved shirt and a murderous glint in his eyes.
They spotted Darryl upon first glance and began to scream.
"We found him, we found him!"
