The Ultimate Husband (Darryl and Lily Lyndon) novel Chapter 4833

Fueled by his anger, Gerald could not help but shout indignantly at Darryl, "You shameless traitor, Derrick Darby! Old Master Stanford has always been kind to you. How dare you turn around and help these bandits at a time like this?"

"We should have broken your legs when we found you just now."

Selina trembled with anger as she called out to Old Master Stanford. "Father! I'd rather die than marry a traitorous bastard like him! Cancel the wedding tomorrow…"

Old Master Stanford was also furious. His daughter's words made his vision dark at the edges, making him almost pass out.

He had failed, well and truly. He had thought that seeking Derrick to marry his daughter would bring her luck, only to find out that he was not noble in the slightest. The slightest threat from the bandits had made him fold almost instantly.

How was Old Master Stanford going to give an explanation to his ancestors for that when he passed on?

Darryl sighed at the jeers of the Stanfords as there was nothing he could do or say in response.

Herod grew frustrated, striding over to slap Gerald several times as he roared, "Motherf*cker! You're really something. How are you still this loud when you're tied up at my mercy? One more sound from you, and I'll cut your tongue off!"

As he spoke, Herod cast a furious glare across the room. "Shut your mouths, all of you!"

Whew!

All at once, the crowd fell silent as no one dared to utter another word.

Gerald did not dare to shout anymore either. His chest throbbed in indignance. F*ck, why was it him that kept getting beaten up…

Seeing everyone fall silent, Herod was plenty satisfied. He cast a grin in Darryl's direction. "Young man! Do you really know where the treasure is?"

Apparently, the treasure of the Stanfords was worth a fortune. If he were to get his hands on it, he and his fellow bandits would be set for a good few years.

Darryl plastered on a smile, nodding vigorously. "I don't exactly know where it is, but I know which room it's in. Come with me. I'll take you there!"

Darryl's expression was heartfelt as he spoke, but his eyes were smug.

Darryl had no idea where the treasure was. He was just trying to buy time to find a chance to save the Stanfords from Herod and his men.

"Haha! Very well!"

Herod had no clue what Darryl was up to as he blissfully nodded. Then, he waved a hand to his men.

"I can't lie. I was pretty envious of you back there. You're a special kind of lucky, marrying into the Stanfords and enjoying the privilege of that beauty every night. From what I see, you're a nobody in the Stanford family. If you really do find us the treasure, I'll let you return to the Snow Wolf Mountain with us.

"You seem bright enough. It's settled. You'll be my assistant. I guarantee you'll have nothing but a life of luxury ahead of you."

Herod was in a pretty good mood then. With the help of Stanford's future son-in-law, that treasure was his for sure.

Darryl forced out a smile, putting on an expression of great gratitude.

"Thank you for your kindness! It's my honor to be able to return to the Snow Wolf Mountain with you. To be honest, I never wanted to be the Stanfords' son-in-law. Selina looks weak, but she's a fierce woman…"

"Haha!"

Herod broke out into laughter once again. As they spoke, Darryl led Herod and his men into the backyard.

It was late into the night, and Darryl did not know where he was going at all. All he could do was bring them to the one place he knew.

Darryl was not without his smarts. He had observed the layout of the place as he brought Herod and his men around.
