Ambrose was happy to see Heather wake up. However, he reprimanded her when he heard what she said.
"Silly girl. What nonsense are you talking about? We aren't married yet. We're going to have many children, so nothing can happen to you. Don't say such foolish things anymore. Okay?"
He embraced Heather in his arms, feeling very excited.
Heather smiled when she saw how Ambrose panicked because of her. It was a girl's happiest moment to have a man protect and care for her deeply. She felt touched as she slowly got closer to Ambrose's cheek and kissed it.
Ambrose's mind blew up when he felt the softness on his face. However, it was just a quick peck.
Heather placed her face on Ambrose's chest with her blushed cheeks and said, "I'm fine now. My body just takes two days to recover. You don't have to be so hard on yourself."
Suddenly, she remembered something, "Oh, yes. Don't blame Veron too. She really likes you a lot, and that's why she thinks of me as her enemy…"
However, she failed to finish her sentence because Ambrose interrupted her.
"Alright. You don't have to say more."
Ambrose hugged her tightly and reminisced on what had happened earlier. He could not help but be angry with Veron.
"Never mention her name to me ever again. I never want to see the Lange family's daughter ever again."
Ambrose could not control his anger when he thought of Veron nearly killing Heather.
Heather sighed and said no more when she saw how angry Ambrose was.
