"You…"
Vincent's face was flushed crimson as he could not find anything to say in retaliation immediately. His chest flared up in a fury.
'F*ck, how dare this little good-for-nothing talk back to me?'
Darryl did not bother to pay him any mind, passing the medicine jar to Zacho with a smile. "Sect Master! This will be enough to cure your wife."
Zacho nodded, turning to address the servant next to him. "Quick, have my darling take this immediately."
"Yes, Sect Master!"
The servant called out as she took the jar and went to the backyard.
"Hold up."
Just then, Vincent stood up all of a sudden with a serious expression on his face as he addressed Zacho.
"You're far too trusting of people, Sect Master. How would you know this is the antidote just by listening to his words?"
As he spoke, Vincent stared Darryl down, unable to hide the disdain in his gaze.
"I reckon he's trying to fool you with some random pills, Sect Master. Think about it. With Magnum's skills, there's no way he could have dropped the antidote even if he was escaping."
Whew…
Zacho fell silent as the servant holding the medicine jar stood awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
Darryl's expression darkened as he stared at Vincent with the ghost of a smile on his face. "Alright. How will you prove that the antidote's fake, then?"
"F*ck, is there something wrong with this guy? Why is he trying to find fault with me at every move?'
Just as Vincent was about to respond, Gigi cut him off lightly. "Brother Vincent, you know that's not true."
Gigi glanced at Darryl as she continued, "Darryl's the head of the Elixir Sect at the Pure Yang Division, and he knows a great deal about pill-making. There's no way he's wrong about this."
Hearing Gigi back up Darryl only angered Vincent further as he responded coldly, "Either way, I think the antidote's fake."
Darryl agreed without any second thought before grinning at Zacho.
"Since this guy refuses to believe that the antidote is real and even wants to bet on it with me, please fetch the pupils that were poisoned the other day."
Zacho nodded before asking his men to do as told.
A few seconds later, a pupil walked in. Under Zacho's instructions, he opened the medicine jar and took a pill.
All that could be seen was that the pupil, due to having been poisoned, had a sickly-green complexion and looked extremely weak. Upon taking the pill, he sat cross-legged on the ground and began to adjust his internal energy.
All at once, the main hall was dead silent as all eyes were on the pupil, watching closely for his response.
One minute…
Two minutes…
Ten minutes passed by quickly enough. The pupil was still pale as a sheet, with no sign of any change.
