Martin could not let out a sneer at the sight of Darryl calling out in a series of howls to the beasts. He did not speak beast language, and thus thought that Darryl was going insane.

At the thought, Martin tried his best to calm down.

Darryl going insane might be a good thing. He could divert the beasts' attention, and Martin would be able to escape with Rachelle.
