At the same time, Debra realized the crack in the story too, and she eyed Scitalis warily. 'Rachelle's right. If the fog can make a person hallucinate and is lethal, why is he alright?'
Scitalis pondered and thought these two ladies were hard to fool. Nonetheless, with his wits, he quickly thought of a reason.
"Maybe the mushroom on the wall has a detoxifying effect," he replied somberly. "After I eat it, I'm no longer afraid of the fog."
Debra and Rachelle exchanged looks with each other and did not ask further, sighing defeatedly.
With that being said, this was a dangerous place. It was not an easy task to leave unscathed.
A thought then popped into Debra's head, and she shivered at the image. Looking toward Rachelle, she stammered, "Are we…going to die since we inhaled the poisonous fog, too?"
Her pretty face could not hide how panicked she was. There were many things she had not yet done, and she had not reunited with Darryl. She refused to die in this place.
Rachelle looked sad too. 'That's right. I inhaled the fog too. Although the divine power could protect me, I'm not immortal. Am I going to die here because of the poison?'
Scitalis mentally chuckled at the sight of Debra and Rachelle panicking. 'These two ladies aren't too weak, but they're not the brightest of the bunch. It was a piece of cake to trick them!'
In truth, the fog was nowhere lethal; all it could do was induce hallucinations.
"Don't worry, wifey," cooed Scitalis. "Both of you won't die here. In the deep end of this cave is an igneous rock jungle, and it has a spring. The spring water can neutralize the poison."
While he was secretly admiring Debra and Rachelle's bodies, he continued, "You're both in luck, because I've just discovered this spring."
After a few minutes, the space ahead of them suddenly opened up.
There was a weird igneous rock jungle up ahead the size of two basketball courts. There were different heights of igneous rocks. Some were several meters in height and connected to the top of the cave, while some were just a meter tall. The color of the entire bodies of the igneous rocks was dark cyan. Their surfaces were glowing with hazy rays. It shined the entire space and created a dreamy effect.
Debra and Rachelle exchanged looks when they saw the igneous rocks jungle. They were very excited, believing that Scitalis did not lie after all when he said that there was an igneous rock jungle.
Due to their excitement, Debra and Rachelle failed to notice that they had walked right into Scitalis' trap, especially Debra.
She had deep knowledge and experience in the art of formation. Had she looked closely, she would discover the igneous rocks jungle ahead of her was actually a massive Five Elements Formation.
