Tuji hummed under his breath and waved his hand to indicate everything was fine.
Graham was secretly relieved when he saw Tuji did not blame him. He then got to the point. "Senior Lange, I'm here tonight to discuss my wedding with Circe."
'Wedding?' Tuji was immediately stunned.
Archfiend Antigonus, who was hiding behind the bookshelf, frowned and squinted as well.
Graham thought of Circe at the time and said, "Senior, I have known Circe for three years, and we are best friends. We hope you will approve of our marriage. I will invite my master here to propose when I return to Wudang. What do you think?"
Graham was overcome with desperation as he finished his sentence.
However, Tuji remained calm. After pondering, he said, "Graham, though you're a Wudang's rookie and you excel in various aspects, I still think you're not a match for Circe. So, forget about the wedding."
'That guy offended Master, and now he's here to propose.'
'How ridiculous!'
"Senior!" Graham shuddered and panicked as he heard Tuji's response. "Circe and I love each other, and my love for her is sincere. Please, don't be like that. Plus, Circe had agreed to the wedding."
Tuji sneered and said sternly, "The Lange family has been established for almost a thousand years. The parents have always decided on the children's marriages. It does not matter if she chooses you as long as I do not agree to it."
Then, Tuji waved his hand impatiently, hinting at Graham to leave.
Graham almost burst into tears when he saw Tuji's determination, and he wanted to refute him. He eventually restrained himself, bowed, and exited the room.
Archfiend Antigonus emerged from behind the bookshelf immediately.
"Graham is pretty interesting," he muttered to himself as he looked out the door. In his mind, he had also thought about a new plan.
His ultimate goal in joining the Lange family was to gain control of them. The first step was becoming a direct disciple of the clan head, but he was still far from his ultimate goal. He was instantly inspired when he heard Graham's proposal.
All those years, the Lange family had raised Circe as the successor. Once he married Circe, he would naturally become the master of the Lange family.
'Since young, my father had rarely restricted me. Why is he so conservative when it comes to my marriage?'
Graham walked forward and comforted her. "Don't worry. In two days, I'll invite Master over to speak to Senior. I'm sure your father will agree by then."
'Wudang is a famous sect. Tuji would undoubtedly have some courtesy toward us.'
However, Circe shook her head. "Graham, you don't understand my father's temperament. He will never change his mind about the things he's decided."
As she spoke, she furrowed her brows.
Graham was startled. Deep down, he also started to panic. 'If Tuji would not change his mind, wouldn't my bright future with Circe be just an imagination?'
'I have an idea!'
Circe's eyes sparkled a few seconds later, and she said, "Go and find my brother. My father would certainly listen to him."
