Just as the words rang through the air, Dax clapped a hand onto Ambrose's shoulder and yanked him towards himself as he said loudly, "No, no! Ambrose, listen. Uncle Dax's on your side. That blow was completely justified."
As he spoke, Dax said to Darryl, "This little girl was acting out of line! Why are you blaming Ambrose instead?"
Darryl hung his head helplessly at Dax's words. "Dax, she's the high lady of the Lange household. That wasn't appropriate for Ambrose to do such a thing."
As he spoke, Debra got to her feet slowly as she said, "She's alright. She just fell unconscious. She'll be alright after she gets some rest."
Whew!
Darryl heaved a sigh of relief at the words. Thank goodness Ambrose's blow had not been fatal, or he would surely have a difficult time explaining himself to the Lange household.
At the thought, Darryl looked at Chester. "What do you think we should do next, Brother Chester?"
Chester pondered briefly before speaking
"There truly seems to be something terribly wrong about how Zenyi supposedly died, but the Lange family can't seem to see it.
"How about this? We'll let the girl rest overnight in the Begonia Residence, and return to the Lange household with her tomorrow to investigate."
As he spoke, Chester's brows were furrowed and his tone was nothing but helpless. Truthfully, he was completely drained from Master Magaera's attack earlier, so he had no energy to care about anything else.
However, Lange family and the Wudang Sect were pretty well-known in the wandering world, and nothing good would come out of a fight breaking out between both parties.
Thus, upon some thinking, Chester decided that he would still go to the Langes with Darryl and try his best to prevent such a tragedy.
Darryl nodded at last upon hearing the words. "Alright! We'll do just that."
As he spoke, Darryl called upon two female pupils to have them bring Veron to rest in a guest chamber. Following that, he called upon a meeting in the main hall to discuss Zenyi's real cause of death.
…
Just then, a figure stood silently on top of a cliff not too far from the Begonia Residence, silently observing everything that was going on.
He was clad in plain black clothes, and he looked rather ordinary aside in contrast to the strong aura he was radiating.
It was Antigonus.
