Just then, outside the door.
Seeing as no one was answering, Heather bit her lip hesitantly.
It seemed that Veron had not waken up yet.
At the thought, Heather turned to leave. She wanted to come back the next day, before deciding that she would leave the medicine behind since she was already here.
Upon making her mind up, Heather pushed the door open slowly.
Creak!
Antigonus' brows furrowed from where he had been hiding behind the door, racking his brain for a plan on what to do.
Heather just had to come at a time like this, didn't she?
Fine, then. He would send her right to hell, along with Veron.
Heather did not realize that danger was incoming, her gaze immediately falling onto Veron as she entered and called out softly. "Sister Veron?"
Due to the room's lights not being turned on, Heather could not tell if Veron was still unconscious or not and went closer to check.
Yet just then, Antigonus' gaze flashed from where he stood behind the door. He did not hesitate at all, raising his left hand to strike fiercely in the direction of Heather's chest.
Sensing this, Heather trembled as she moved instinctively to dodge the blow— but it was all too late.
Thump!
Heather's heart vein was shattered immediately as fresh blood sprayed from her mouth. She collapsed onto the ground, falling unconscious immediately.
Seeing that one blow alone did the trick, Antigonus smirked cruelly as he strode towards Veron.
Yet before he could strike, a group of patrol guards had rushed over.
"I heard something from over here!"
"Yeah, it seemed to come from Miss Veron's room."
"Come on, let's go take a look…"
The sounds floated over as the footsteps grew denser by the second.
Antigonus cast a glance at a still-unconscious Veron. "You got lucky this time." Upon saying so, Antigonus wasted no time before leaving the room at top speed and disappearing into the night.
Just as he had left, the Elysium Gate pupils arrived.
Upon taking in the sight before them, everyone got a huge shock.
"Heather!"
At the same time, Ambrose let out a crazed howl at the sight of an unconscious Heather as he dashed over to scoop Heather into his arms.
Ambrose could clearly sense then that Heather's heart vein had been destroyed and her aura was incredibly weak, putting her life in grave danger.
"Heather, my dear Heather… you're scaring me, please open your eyes…" Ambrose fell apart instantaneously, sobbing as he felt as if his heart was being torn into two.
The next second, Ambrose raised his head to stare murderously at Veron. "Veron Lange, you evil, evil woman. Heather came here to bring you medicine out of kindness, only for you to attack her like this. Are you even human?"
Ambrose's eyes were bloodshot as he spoke, blazing with rage.
He believed without a doubt that it was Veron who had injured Heather to this extent. After all, Veron had always had it out for Heather.
"You…"
Veron's mind blanked out at the situation, but she managed to come to her senses quickly enough to roar, "Are you out of your mind, Ambrose Darby? Blaming me just because you can? What does your b*tch getting beaten up have anything to do with me?"
Veron was thoroughly angered then. She had just woken up and had gotten blamed for something she had no part of out of the blue.
