"What's wrong?"
"What happened?"
Rachelle and Debra heard the noises and went to take a look. When they entered the study room, their faces flushed as well.
"Darryl! You are a jerk!" Rachelle stomped her feet angrily and went back downstairs.
Debra felt shameful and angry too. She glared at Darryl. "Darryl, how can you treat Sheryl like that?"
Sherly was a Divine Dragon Clan envoy, and she could not believe how Darryl treated her.
Darryl was speechless and helpless. He explained, "Debra, it's not what you think. She was the one who insisted on taking the Rejuvenation Pill."
Sheryl had finally regained her senses too. She explained, "That's right. Dragon Lord had nothing to do with that. I acted too recklessly just now."
'So that's what happened…' Debra was a thoughtful and meticulous person. She knew she misunderstood Darryl after hearing Sheryl's explanation. She grabbed Circe's hand and said with a smile, "Miss Lange, I think it's not what we thought happened."
After that, she brought Circe back downstairs with her and told Circe about Rachelle's encounter in detail. Darryl left the study room in a rush and ordered a female disciple to prepare new clothes for Sheryl.
Sheryl returned downstairs not long after with her new clothes. "Dragon Lord, I will be on my way to deliver your message to Her Majesty," she said. She then exited, her face flushed.
Circe had known the entire story by that point, but the way she looked at Darryl was still odd. Debra and Rachelle sat off to the side. They still look embarrassed as they recall what they saw. It was difficult for them to get over their man embarrassing himself in front of another woman. The atmosphere was a little understated.
"Brother Darryl!"
"Yes, Brother Darryl!" the disciple responded and went on his way.
As the disciple left, Darryl took a deep breath. He apologized to Circe. "I'm sorry. I was careless. I would have escorted her back myself if I knew that would happen."
Circe smiled bitterly. "There's no use saying that now since it has already happened. I need to go back to my family and make some arrangements." Then she bid Darryl goodbye.
When she was at the door, she stopped and looked back. "Darryl, if anything bad happens to Veron, I'm holding you accountable. Expect retaliation from me."
Darryl smiled bitterly. He would not have given a damn about it if someone else had threatened him. However, it was different that time. If something terrible happened to Veron, it would definitely be his fault.
Circe said nothing else when Darryl did not reply to her. Then she left.
