F*ck!
Tyson could not help but inhale sharply, crying out in anger, "You lowly animal, you were restoring your powers back there!"
Janoff's expression was solemn as well as he stared intently at the bird flying in circles above them, mumbling to himself, "That sure is the guardian bird of the sun. Gosh, it's more powerful than a spirit beast."
As he spoke, Janoff hurried to block off the acupoints on his body needed to stop the bleeding.
Just then, the Three-legged Golden bird exploded once again as it fluttered its wings, bringing about a wave of roaring flames.
Both Tyson and Janoff scrambled to duck, before joining forces to take down the bird together. They knew well enough that they would both end up dead at the talons of this beast if they were to continue fighting against each other, and it was a much better idea to team up for the time being and continue their personal duel after the beast had been taken down.
The pair consisted of the strongest warrior in the Raksasa tribe and the head of the Skyway Association, and they were considered to be some of the most powerful people in the Nine Continents. By teaming up, they were able to take down the Three-legged Golden Bird in no time.
Just as the Three-legged Golden Bird was about to be taken down by Tyson and Janoff, a terrifying force suddenly came from the lava below in waves.
Sensing this, both their chests thudded heavily.
Veron held her breath as well. She knew that the eight other golden birds were about to appear.
Whew!
Just then, another terrifying wave of energy came out from the lava once again. This was followed by the appearance of a gigantic figure bursting from the flames.
One, two… a whopping eight Three-legged Golden Birds appeared in front of the crowd. The air constricted along, as if it was about to combust any second.
Everyone else present was dumbfounded, standing there frozen as their brains buzzed blankly.
"Why… why are there so many of them?"
"One of them was a pain enough to deal with, and now there are eight more… we're finished…"
Amidst the voices, many of them were trembling as they could barely stand anymore.
Due to Bowen and Veron being located slightly further away from the chaos, they had not been struck by the flames. Yet the heat of the fire was far too much for them to bear as well. Veron spotted a crack in the wall behind them big enough to fit them, and did not hesitate before calling out to Bowen to hide in there with her.
Just then, in mid-air about the stone ledge.
The nine golden birds formed a line, their beady eyes locked on Janoff and Tyson.
Crap!
Just then, Janoff moved in one go as he ducked out and soared towards the exit above.
The Sunset Bow was important, but it would mean nothing if he was not alive to claim it.
Seeing Janoff escape, Tyson did not hesitate either. He followed behind quickly, rushing out alongside Janoff. He had fought one of the birds, and knew well enough just how powerful these beasts were. Now that there were nine of them, he would only be doomed for sure if he were to stay.
Just then, the nine golden birds let out a series of crows as they flapped their wings, chasing behind the men like nine streaks of lightning.
