Just as Darryl was about to arrive, he saw that Kokun's house had been entirely sealed off.

A few black armored army riders were marking a 'no-entry' line on the ground in front of the main gate, and a small crowd had gathered behind the line, buzzing with chatter.

"I can't believe Kokun had a secret alliance with the Skyway Association."

Darryl smiled, asking politely, "I just wanted to know what Kokun did to have his house blocked off."

"What, are you related to him?" The army rider asked, immediately wary.

Darryl shook his head. "No, no, I was just asking out of curiosity."

The army rider huffed in exasperation at the words. "Well, why are you asking all these questions then? Go, go… Check out the notice by the road if you want to know what's happening."

As he spoke, he waved a hand at Darryl for him to go away.

Had that happened in the past, Darryl would have never been able to withstand the army rider's insolence. However, he had been through enough and was calm enough to not start anything. He saw a notice board not too far away with many people crowded in front of it and hurried over.

Once he had reached the notice board, its contents gave him a shock.

The announcement was simple enough: Kokun had been secretly fraternizing with the Skyway Association, which led to Monna being captured. He had also launched a massacre in the side palace, which ended with him being killed…

Monna had gone missing?

All at once, Darryl stood rooted to the ground as his brain buzzed blankly, and he could not return to his senses.

It had barely been an afternoon. How had so much happened?

Circe was expressionless, but her chest thudded in nervousness.
