Chapter 482
1/2
Henry blew his top and Viola, who was supposed to be going for a CT scan, turned and left the hospital.
Melanie received a call from Carla when she got out of the hospital. Carla had a few more requests, and Melanie took note of them.
Hanging up, she was about to leave when she saw Viola standing not far away.
Melanie paused. She pretended not to see Viola and continued walking.
However, Viola called out to her, “Melanie.”
Melanie stopped walking. “What do you want?”
There was something strange about Viola’s pale face, and she looked a little sick under the sun.
However, Viola did not seem to notice her own condition. She smiled and said, “Eugene’s grandfather seems to like you a lot, Melanie.”
Melanie looked at her and waited for her to continue.
“To be honest, I’m pretty envious of you.
“What are you trying to say?” Melanie asked.
Viola hated how Melanie looked calm. The calmer Melanie was, the more it made Viola look stupid.
Clenching her teeth, she tried her best to force a smile on her face. “How about making a bet with me, Melanie? Guess what Eugene will do if I faint in front of you right now?”
Melanie looked up at her. “That’s a pointless bet.”
Viola’s smile froze on her face, and Melanie turned to leave.
She finally could not take it and said to Melanie darkly, “Do you think Eugene will like you just because you have Mr. Henry’s support?
“You disgust him just the same. Who do you think you are? You’re just a toy he got tired of playing with.”
Viola said this harshly and quickly. It felt like she had been keeping these words pent up for a long time, and she was only blurting them out now.
Melanie stopped in her footsteps. She turned back to look at Viola coldly. “What did you just say?”
“Am I wrong? Even if Eugene’s entire family likes you, Eugene will never like you. He has been disgusted with you for a long time.”
Viola’s mind could not stop thinking about how Henry had humiliated her. It made her feel resentful and aggrieved. She wanted to vent all her frustrations on Melanie.
This was all Melanie’s fault.
If it were not for Melanie, she would never have been humiliated by Henry that way…
There was not much emotion on Melanie’s face, but the look she gave Viola was pretty chilling. Melanie was slightly taller than Viola, and when she looked down at Viola coldly, it was quite intimidating.
Viola was startled by this.
Melanie’s tone was sarcastic. “I had always thought that you were stupid enough, but you keep surprising me all the time.
“Or did you become stupid after spending time with Mason Gray?” Melanie mentioned him in passing, but this was enough to make Viola jump. She looked at Melanie in fear.
