Melanie lowered her gaze for a moment but then returned the jacket and walked away. She avoided 

his touch. 

It was too stuffy in the private room, and she needed to catch her breath outside. As soon as she 

stepped out, she saw another familiar figure coming out of another private room. 

He was the person they had just been talking about, Harvey. Melanie did not follow him as she was 

feeling very troubled now. 

She had come here intending to resolve the issue between Howard and Matthew, but now it was like

Melanie watched the passing vehicles and the lush greenery along the road. Raising a hand, she hailed a taxi, got in, and said evenly, “I’m going back to the hotel.” 

There was a moment of silence but then Melanie hung up the phone without even hesitating. She had made herself clear enough. 

Her relationship with Eugene was just that of a former employer and employee. This statement was not just for those listening in; it was also for Eugene and herself. She had no obligation to do anything
