Chapter 698 

The sky darkened. After Viola got out of the car, the smell of her sweet perfume lingered in the car. 

Matthew frowned. He pulled out a disinfectant tissue from the glove box and wiped his fingers carefully. He did not stop until he had thoroughly cleaned all ten fingers, then he got out of the car expressionlessly and threw the tissue into the trash can. 

After that, he did not get into the car again. He leaned against the Rolls–Royce and counted down inwardly.

Matthew opened the car door and threw his phone inside. Then, he locked the car and continued playing with his lighter outside. 

Nicole had given him the lighter when he was learning how to smoke. 

Melanie walked a distance away from the conference room before returning the milk tea to Hugh. “I can’t drink milk tea right now because of the pregnancy, but thank you.” 

Hugh lowered his eyes and pondered for a moment. “Shall I buy you a thermos tomorrow instead?” 

“You don’t have to give me anything.” She could not imagine Hugh picking her up with a thermos. 

Melanie was too busy putting together the files that night to have dinner with Hugh. She had just returned to her room when she got a call from Xander. 

Melanie happened to have a question for him, so she smiled and said, “Well, this is a coincidence. I was just going to call you.” 

Xander smiled back. “Maybe we’re on the same wavelength.” 

As soon as he finished that sentence, Liana clicked her tongue. “Hey, Mel! Do you dear sister–in–law?”

Liana’s greetings were as enthusiastic as ever. Melanie coughed lightly and said, “How have you been, Liana?”
