He seemed to assume Melanie would not refuse him, but she did not reject him either.

Matthew shrugged and left. 

The trip to Nava was soon arranged. Melanie applied to work remotely and got approval from Xander. When they hung up, Xander said, “I heard the snowy scenery at Nava’s lake is beautiful. Perhaps we can go together sometime.” 

Melanie replied, “I’ll wait for your arrival in Nava.” 

Xander chuckled. “Okay.” 

Melanie changed her phone number on the second day of her arrival in Oskon City. Now, her contact list only had a few familiar names. 

After chatting with Xander for a while, she started packing her bags. 

Then, on a Monday, she flew to Nava. 

The weather in Nava was much better than in Oskon City and less humid. Matthew had everything arranged. Someone picked her up at the airport. He even had the house ready for her. All she had to do 

was move in. 

She had no time to rest. Melanie realized why Matthew insisted on her presence. 

The connections between the Solder family in Nava, the Chad family in Garuth, and Sunshade made it incredibly challenging for external enterprises to establish themselves.

Melanie worked the moment she arrived, and the busy period continued for half a year. It was 

December in the blink of an eye. 

In August, Stephen called to inform her that they had successfully obtained evidence in the Cedric case, with significant help from Eugene. 

Melanie had been waiting to hear that name for a long time. Initially, when she left Jepton, she would occasionally think about him. However, as she got busier, she stopped dwelling on it. 

She now valued the future more and had someone else she wanted to protect. 

On the weekend, Yvonne came to Nava for a business trip and took the opportunity to visit Melanie. As soon as they met at the airport, Yvonne hugged Melanie, saying, “I missed you so much!”
