The Unwilling CEO's Love Game novel Chapter 78

Melvin wasn’t raised by a family of scholars and manners. His hostility and temper were never hidden.

But he hadn’t thrown down like this in years.

Ignoring the guy wailing on the ground, he stood up and walked over to Jocelyn. His gaze wasn't any softer as he sized her up, "Didn't you try to dodge?"

"I did," Jocelyn's voice was shaky, "But couldn't get away."

"Then why dare you come?" Melvin squinted at her.

Jocelyn was freaking out inside. How could Melvin not see right through her little schemes?

She had done it on purpose.

"Aren't you always putting your trust in Willow?" Jocelyn mustered her courage, "Her intentions to harm me have never changed."

Melvin's brows knitted together, clearly not pleased.

Jocelyn couldn't bring herself to meet his eyes. She had been genuinely scared by him just now.

That cruelty and savagery even seemed a bit bloody to her.

"So, you're trying to prove your point in this way?"

"What else could I do? You chose to believe her, not me." Jocelyn hated to resort to this, but she saw no other way.

As long as Melvin treated Willow specially, there was no chance things would ever go back to how they used to be between him and Jocelyn.

Melvin stared at her for a long time without speaking, his dark expression and icy stare upset Jocelyn further.

The more he acted like this, the more it showed that Willow was still special to him in his heart.

Even knowing that Willow's intentions weren't as straightforward as they seemed, he wouldn't really do anything to her because of their previous relationship.

He did have put some restrictions on Willow's job. But he could bring her back to the limelight whenever he wanted.

It might seem like he cared about Jocelyn, but the one he actually cared about was Willow.

Suddenly, Melvin grabbed Jocelyn's wrist and started dragging her out. She was afraid that if she struggled, her wrist would be broken.

As they stumbled to the door, Willow came walking in from outside.

"Melvin?" Willow was surprised to see him, "What are you doing here?"

Then she heard the pained groans from inside the room. She gave Melvin and Jocelyn a quick glance and hurried in.

Shocked at the scene, Willow turned and asked, "Melvin, did you do this to him?"

Jocelyn just watched quietly, curious to see what Melvin would say.

Melvin looked back indifferently, "Got any problem with that?"

Willow rushed over, panicked, "Do you have any idea who he is? His dad's working in the tax bureau."

"So what?"

"If you hurt him like this, what if..." Willow left her sentence hanging, but everyone got the gist.

Dealing with certain government departments is a company's worst nightmare. If you piss them off, they could be snooping around your business all the time.

Melvin's eyes narrowed dangerously, "So that's his excuse to lay hands on my woman?"

Jocelyn had been watching the drama unfold with a bit of schadenfreude, but her heart skipped a beat at that remark.

Suddenly, she knew what it felt like to miss a heartbeat. She was even a bit touched.

He was incredibly cool in her eyes at that moment.

Willow's face turned sour.

"Besides, you're not in her league. So just quit hanging around her. Last warning: if you want to stay in the limelight, watch your behaviour." Melvin didn't care a bit about Willow's feelings and walked away, pulling Jocelyn along.

Jocelyn was now following his lead, biting her lip, unable to hide her glee.

By chance, Melvin turned and caught that glimmer of her smile.

"You think it’s funny?" Melvin was in a bad mood.

Hearing her slightly triumphant tone, Melvin was outraged again when thinking of that man pressing Jocelyn against the corner about to kiss her.

He reached out, pulled Jocelyn close, and bit down on her lips.

Jocelyn cried out in pain, pounding on his back to resist.

But Melvin didn't let up. Instead, he bit down harder, as if he wouldn't be satisfied until he'd taken a chunk out of her.

Tears sprang in Jocelyn's eyes. Melvin finally released her.

His lips were smeared with blood. He wickedly flicked his tongue across them with a devil-may-care attitude. His deep eyes were locked onto her with intensity. The sight of a tear rolling down her cheek tightened his throat. Moving closer, he kissed away that single tear.

Jocelyn reached out and pinched hard at his waist. But damn, the guy was in such good build that there was hardly any flesh to get a grip on.

Melvin cupped her face and his lips parted slightly, "Never try that again."

All of a sudden, Jocelyn turned her head and chomped down on his hand. Melvin sharply inhaled but didn't struggle, letting her bite.

Not until Jocelyn felt her teeth sinking into his skin and the metallic taste filled her mouth did she let go.

Both of them had a thing for biting, whether in love or in hate.

They'd bitten each other just about everywhere. Lucky for them, they didn't scar easily. Otherwise they'd be hideous to look at.

"Satisfied now?" Melvin eyed the teeth mark on his hand. She really bit the big one this time.

But hey, she wasn't much better off, with the blood at the corner of her mouth dried up, looking like a blood mole.

He gently scratched at it, and the dried blood clung to his finger.

Jocelyn stared at him, "Were you the incarnation of a dog?"

"How about you?" Melvin replied, pulling out a tissue to dab at her lips. He hadn't really gone to town with the biting, just a little nip. But she left a dumpling-sized bite that was bleeding - that's gonna leave a mark.

What a dog fight.

Jocelyn didn't give a damn about his pain. Melvin thrust his hand in front of her face, "As long as this scar stays, you're mine . Behave yourself. No wandering thoughts. As long as I'm in your bed at night, I'm yours."
