"Okay."
Tom agreed without thinking.
Glory was stunned by his agreeing so fast, but then he sneered, thinking that Tom was just playing tricks on him.
"Then there is no need to keep talking. Just pay." Glory also took out his bank card and was about to start paying for the 15 million dollars villa.
Tom smiled and said to Phoebe, "Which one do you like? Let's buy it directly."
Phoebe immediately pulled Tom aside and whispered, "Tom, what the hell are you doing? We have no intention of buying a villa in Dragon Bay!"
The smile on Tom's face didn't change a bit. "Then you can't let Grace and her mother look down on you for nothing, can you? You're also a chairman now. It's not good for your image if words spread out, is it?"
Phoebe bit her lips. "But I don't have the money."
"It's okay, I have." Tom smiled brightly. His smile made Phoebe feel a little special.
"Tom!" Phoebe raised her voice. "We're divorced. Why are you helping me like this?"
She stared at Tom intently, trying to get some answers from Tom's expression, but she was disappointed. Tom was very calm, still smiling, and nothing was unusual.
"We can still be friends after divorce."
"I don't have that much money to pay you back!"
Tom didn't answer back, but said directly to Elizabeth and James, "Dad, mom, which villa do you like? I'll buy it now."
Now that Tom behaved so naturally without a hint of guilty look, Elizabeth and James began to hesitate. A voice appeared in their minds. Could Tom really have money to buy it?
For a moment, there was some light shedding on the darkness of their despair.
Elizabeth said, "We'll leave it to you to decide."
James also said, "Right, it's your call."
After all, now that Tom had divorced Phoebe and had nothing to do with them, it was not reansonable for them to ask Tom to buy them such an expensive villa directly.
Seeing that they were still nagging, obviously stalling, so Grace said impatiently, "Hey, do you want to buy it or not? Don't waste time here."
Tom walked over again and said, "Of course we do. Why don't we? But these villas are not what we like."
Grace was suddenly amused and showed a disdainful expression. "Hehe, I knew you would say that. But it's quite normal. A villa worth more than ten million dollars is beyond your means even if you work for the rest of your life."
The people around them looked at Tom with disdain. For people in H City, 99 % of them could not afford to buy a luxurious villa in Dragon Bay. This was not a very embarrassing thing, but the problem was that Tom was a person who could not afford to buy it and still not kept his mouth shut, which was disgraceful.
Especially compared to a successful person like Glory, he was even more belittled.
In fact, it wasn't just them, even Elizabeth and James thought so, so they unconsciously distanced themselves from Tom.
Tom just smiled and ignored them. Instead, he said directly to the real estate salesman, "Where is your most expensive villa district?"
Everyone was stunned when they heard him say this, including the real estate salesman. After a while, the other party said, "It's the ninth project. The average price over there is more than 30 million dollars."
"Well, just take me there." Tom said with a smile.
Everyone thought he was crazy. He couldn't take out more than ten million dollars but wanted to see the most high-end?
Grace and Kenia looked at each other and laughed. They thought that Tom was just trying to make a fool of himself, so they were not nervous at all. Instead, they were happier. They would just have to wait to see how Tom and Phoebe and her parents made a fool of themselves later.
Moreover, if this got back to the rest of the Scotts, it would be even more funny, enough to make Phoebe and her parents be disgraceful in the Scotts!
