A partnership?
I smiled. “Both of you are already very powerful. I doubt you need this small Green Orange of mine for anything, no?”
The bait was tempting but I had to maintain my reason.
Nibel looked at me, a faint smile on his lips. “I don’t want Green Orange, I just need you.”
“Me?”
“My request for this partnership with President Grant is very simple. I want Miss Wanda to be the spokesperson for Gold-O Face Cream.”
I waved my hand. "I'm not a model. Why do you want me?"
"We’d get the best outcome with you as the spokesperson. You and President Grant are husband and wife. You’ll be more convincing as the spokesperson. If even President Grant's wife uses this cream, what else is there for other people to worry about? Naturally, it would drive up sales.
Nibel wanted to use this as a publicity stunt.
If we were to do this, though, and something goes wrong later, Theo and I would be implicated. We might not even be able to shake it off.
I looked at Theo, wanting to know what he thought. He looked at me. "I have no objections. It all depends on President Lane. If she agrees, then I’ll happily cooperate."
Theo emphasized the word ‘cooperate.’
I recalled what he said to me before, to cooperate with Nibel. Was he hinting at me to agree?
“Since President Grant has agreed to it, what’s your answer, Miss Wanda?”
“Alright then. I accept.”
