Today was the last day Sylvester had to consider his answer.
If he had not given us an answer before the clock strikes twelve then our plan would have failed.
Seeing Theo so calm, I could not help but be curious. "Are you not worried?"
He put down his work and looked at me. His gaze was soft, just as his tone was as he said, "Even if Sylvester doesn't agree to a partnership, we still have other plans, no?"
"Maybe so but still, working with him would be the most convenient."
Once we cooperate, I would have countless possibilities to get close to Sylvester and that would give me the opportunity to get into Yard Mansion.
"Sit down, it'll happen sooner or later. Don't worry too much." Theo gestured for me to sit down.
I pulled out the chair in front of him, put my phone on the table, and kept my eye on it, afraid that I would miss the message.
"Sylvester is a smart man. He'll respond," Theo said. He could probably tell I was still worried.
Raising a brow, I looked at Theo and asked, "Why do you say so?"
Theo smiled lightly and answered slowly, "If he wants the Yards to develop as quickly as possible, he has to find a partner and this partner has to be good. Otherwise, there'll be no way to spur them on. At present, Grant Corporation is the most beneficial to his development in Whaldorf City. This is Sylvester's best bet. Even if he manages to guess that you have other plans, he wouldn't pay it heed considering his feelings for Silas. This has, after all, nothing to do with him."
"You're right. If this is the case, that means Sylvester won't stop me even if I want to enter Yard Mansion later to search it since this is a private matter between me and Silas, and it has nothing to do with him. If I can strike a heavy blow on Silas, Sylvester will be even happier, no?" I had more or less grasped the situation.
Theo smiled at me and nodded. "Yes, that's it. But we can't rule out that Sylvester might still feel indebted to Silas."
"He raised him, after all. But Silas probably caused a lot of trauma to Sylvester while he was growing up in Yard Mansion." I could tell from Sylvester that he did not seem to want to recall his childhood."
Perhaps it was as he said, that I was the lucky one.
