Mike POV
Finding myself strapped to a chair, my wrists and ankles bound tightly to the legs by tight leather biting into my skin. I couldn't believe where my luck had taken me. I mean come on, all I did was spike the punch and maybe upset Knox.
"And set the wheels in motion for our Alpha to get killed, Havoc to rip the hall apart and set a demon free amongst us!" Flint growled low in warning.
"Thanks for the support, mate." I groaned heavily while my eyes remained glued to the horrifying scene unfolding before me. Alpha Leigh, a man I once revered and feared, was relentlessly beating his Beta, trying to extract answers from him. His whole aura oozed desperation and fear.
"Let's hope he doesn't turn that rage on us, because if he does, I won't be raising a paw against my Alpha!" Flint replied coldly.
"What?" I squealed to my two-faced wolf. "You would allow him to beat me like that and sit back and do nothing?" I gasped, unable to believe my wolf's fucking guile. I was in charge, not him. He would obey me, whether he liked it or fucking not.
"Call on Astaroth, your new bestie, to help you." He laughed, amused at my outrage as he settled down inside the back of my mind.
"Why did you betray me? When did your betrayal begin? Did you know the plan was to kill me? What of Sebastian? Have you always hated me? Why work with a demon?" Leigh spat question after question at Anthony, his questions hanging unanswered in the air like dark clouds.
He was determined to get answers from his old friend, but not as determined it seemed as Anthony to remain silent. So far he had gotten nothing from his Beta, other than the information Liam and Adam had already extracted yesterday. Alpha's blows became more brutal with his frustration, but for a man known to have unspeakable strength, I couldn't help but smirk seeing him pull his punches a little, as if his heart was not quiet in it. Not that I could blame him.
"Goddess be good." I whispered as I watched from my seat, feeling the blood trickle down my lip as a frustrated Alpha Leigh landed blow after blow on his Beta.
"Do you have any idea the damage this man has caused?" Alpha bellowed as he looked over at a bored Liam and Adam.
"Of course, we do." Adam sighed, lifting off the wall to step beside Liam, who was watching with mild curiosity. The truth was we all knew, but more so, all here, apart from my Alpha, knew I had a part to play in it, although I couldn't help but note how neither Liam nor Adam mentioned that fact to Alpha Leigh. Why, I am not sure.
"Because they don't trust you. You have your wolf and no one else does, that makes you a threat." Flint grunted pointlessly.
"But I can't use you. And you have already said that you won't assist me. So what's the point in that?" I moaned, knowing I sounded feeble and pathetic, but having Flint and not being able to use him was like having chocolate in front of you and not being able to eat it.
"They don't know Astaroth has grounded me, for now." Flint reminded me and I saw the sense in his words, but that didn't make me feel any better.
"I want to show these bastards that I am not as weak as they think me to be. That I can hold my own." I added with a scoff.
"By using me, you are not holding your own, are you?" Flint reminded me with a laugh that told me he still found me to be repulsive. Fuck knows why, we were a team.
