Their Secret Obsession (A Reverse Harem) by Pippa Moon novel Chapter 294

"Hard to be Luna of any pack if you're dead," I replied coolly, stepping closer until we were mere inches apart. "And believe me, I'd take great pleasure in making that happen." Her eyes flickered with a mix of fear and defiance.

"Over Lottie? You're willing to start a war over her?" she snapped, trying to regain control. The way she said her name—with such disdain—made Savage roar within me. Without thinking, my hand moved on its own accord, delivering a sharp slap across her face. The sound echoed in the silent kitchen.

"Watch how you say her name," I warned, my voice low and deadly. "I told you once—I won't tell you again." She raised a trembling hand to her reddening cheek, eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"Over her?" she repeated, attempting to steady herself. "You must be insane."

"No, Connie," I corrected, my gaze piercing into hers. "I remember you—from Meadow Summer Camp. I remember how you tormented my daughter. I might not have been able to do anything about it then, but rest assured, I can now." A flicker of recognition crossed her face.

"Who... who is your daughter?" she scoffed, but there was uncertainty in her eyes.

"Kara," I stated plainly.

"I... I didn't..." Her complexion paled, the blood draining from her face. She took a step back.

"Once a bitch, always a bitch," I continued, taking a deliberate step forward. "And when a rabid dog bites one too many times, there's only one humane thing to do."

"You're threatening me," she whispered, her bravado faltering.

"Call it what you want," I replied with a cold smile. "Consider this your first and only warning." She squared her shoulders, attempting to mask her fear.

"You think you can intimidate me? I have the support of this pack. Kane and Knox—"

"Care little for you," I interrupted sharply. "And even if they did, it wouldn't stop me. You hurt my family. You hurt my little girl, now my sister..." My voice cracked ever so slightly, the memory of Kara's tear-streaked face flashing in my mind. "I won't let you hurt anyone else I care about."

"I didn't know she was your daughter," she mumbled. Her eyes searched mine, perhaps looking for mercy, perhaps realising she had crossed a line she couldn't step back over.

"That doesn't absolve you," I shot back. "You knew she was a child, and you tormented her anyway." A tense silence settled between us. Finally, she looked away, her gaze dropping to the floor.

"What do you want from me?" she asked quietly.

"Stay away from Lottie. Keep her name out of your mouth. And if I ever hear that you've so much as looked at her the wrong way, there won't be a second warning."
