Chapter 145 William And Arthur Lose Their Minds
Camila had long since grown accustomed to William’s foolishness. Honestly, stupidity could be even more maddening than outright cruelty.
She had tried explaining herself before, but William refused to listen. Even when Emily stepped forward to vouch for her, he remained suspicious.
He acted like he was the only one who saw the truth while everyone else was blind. It was so ridiculous that it made Camila laugh out loud. Her laughter was dripping with mockery.
“Since you’re so convinced that the hospital wouldn’t team up with Agnes and Arthur to hurt people, let me show you the proof. You’ll see exactly why they were willing to help,” she said coldly.
As she spoke, Camila opened the coffee table drawer and pulled out a file. Slowly, she stood up, dragging her injured leg as she limped toward William.
With every step she took, William’s heart began to pound uncontrollably.
Camila’s unwavering gaze and calm demeanor sent a chill down William’s spine, stirring an inexplicable sense of dread. Though he kept insisting he didn’t believe her, deep down, he couldn’t help but start to doubt himself.
Camila stopped in front of him. She looked into his eyes with unshakable resolve. She held out the file and said evenly,” Take a look. Once you read it, you’ll understand why the hospital went along with it.”
William instinctively avoided Camila’s gaze, his heart in turmoil. To cover up his unease, he forced a cold snort and feigned indifference. “Fine, let’s see what kind of game you’re playing now.”
Without another word, he snatched the documents from Camila’s hands and began flipping through them. As his eyes scanned the pages, his hands started trembling uncontrollably, and his breathing grew heavier with each passing second.
The truth hit him hard. It turned out that the director of Mercy Hospital was not only Arthur’s mistress but also Agnes’s biological mother. No wonder Agnes and Arthur had been so confident the hospital would back their schemes.
Agnes stood frozen beside William, her eyes glued to the documents he was reading. Instantly, her eyes widened in shock, and terror gripped her heart. She had never imagined that her deepest secrets would be unearthed so thoroughly.
For the first time, Agnes felt true fear. Giovani’s methods were terrifyingly thorough. He had even dug up secrets buried for over twenty years. A single thought consumed her that she had to escape, and she had to do it now.
Agnes spun around abruptly and bolted, but before she could take a single step, a powerful hand clamped down on her shoulder. The grip was so strong that it felt as though it might crush her bones.
William’s voice was low and venomous, forced through gritted teeth. “Agnes, you haven’t explained yourself yet. Where do you think you’re going?“”
The pain in her shoulder was unbearable, and tears instantly streamed down Agnes’s face. “William, please! You’re hurting me!” she cried out in desperation.
Her plea only fueled William’s fury. The emotions he had been holding back exploded like a volcano.
William demanded, “Hurting you? So you know what pain feels like? Did you even care how much Emily suffered when you shoved her down the stairs? Did you think about Camila’s agony when you framed her and had her tortured in prison?”
“And you, Arthur, and she…” he snarled, pointing a finger at Ivanna. “When the three of you conspired to carve out Camila’s organs, did it ever cross your mind how much agony she would endure?”
Overcome with rage, William hurled the documents in his hand directly at Agnes’s face. “You bitch! You’ve been lying to me ‘all this time!” he roared.
Tears streamed down William’s face, blurring his vision. He no longer knew whether it was rage at his stupidity or guilt for the pain he had caused Camila because of Agnes’s lies.
Raising his hand, he delivered a resounding slap across Agnes’s face. The slap landed with a sharp crack, sending her tumbling to the floor.
“Agnes!” Ivanna, Claude, and Arthur shouted in unison, their voices overlapping as they rushed to Agnes’s side.
William didn’t even glance their way. He turned around, his gaze heavy with regret as he looked at Camila. He wanted to say so much, but the damage he’d done was like a wall he couldn’t break through. He had hurt her too deeply.
Just moments ago, he had been defending Ag Successfully unlocked!n, but now the truth hit him like a slap in the
face. It wasn’t his fault. Agnes was just too good at prete
vas just another victim of her lies.
William raised his hand, reaching out to pull Camila into his arms, desperate to let her feel the sincerity of his remorse. Camila frowned, her stomach twisting at the thought of William touching her. The mere idea made her feel sick. She tried to step away, but her injured legs betrayed her, slowing her down.

Chapter: 145 William And Arthur Lose Their Minds
As William was about to pull her into his embrace, a strong, steady hand suddenly reached out, wrapping firmly around her waist. With a swift tug, Camila was pulled into a cedar–scented embrace.
Without a second’s hesitation, Giovani’s foot flew out, driving into William’s chest and knocking him flat onto the ground.
“She’s mine. You think you have the right to lay a finger on her?” Giovani said, his voice low and icy.
William lay crumpled on the ground, trembling as he slowly lifted his head. His eyes, filled with pain, locked onto Camila.” Camila, I swear I didn’t mean it. Please give me one more chance!” he pleaded desperately.
Camila, now completely enveloped in Giovani’s arms, had her face buried against his chest. The scent of cedar mixed with a faint trace of tobacco filled her senses, drowning out everything else. She didn’t even register what William was saying.
Her silence cut through William like a blade, leaving him drowning in despair, Camila wasn’t going to forgive him. He had lost the girl he loved most forever.
The sight of Camila and Giovani so intimately close burned into William’s eyes, a cruel reminder of what he had lost. Forcing himself to his feet, he roared hoarsely, “Let go of Camila!”
Giovani didn’t even glance back, his arm firmly around Camila as he strode away.
William’s eyes burned with rage as he clenched his fist and charged forward. “Let go of Camila!” he roared.
At that moment, Enoch couldn’t take it anymore. He stepped forward and slapped William hard across the face, his voice booming with fury. “You ungrateful brat! How much longer are you going to act out? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?”
Abigail’s face was etched with disappointment. “William, you’ve truly let us down.”
Emily sneered coldly. “Having a brother like you is the worst luck imaginable. From now on, you’re no brother of mine, and I‘ m no sister of yours!”
“No, it’s not like that. It’s not my fault. Agnes manipulated me!” William shook his head frantically, trying to defend himself. But Camila would never forgive him, and the weight of that thought shattered him. ‘Why couldn’t my parents and sister understand me?‘ he wondered.
William’s head buzzed, his eyes bloodshot with fury. Unable to vent his anger on Camila or his family, he turned it all on Agnes and Arthur.
