Chapter 169 Blocked Turner
The night passed, and sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, casting dappled patterns across the bed.
Lucy’s head throbbed unbearably, but her body felt even worse–like it had been torn apart and sewn back together. Every muscle ached, and the sharp pain down there made her gasp.
She forced her heavy eyelids open, and the first thing she saw was Turner’s refined, handsome face–so striking that she couldn’t bring herself to look away.
Lucy froze, her mind grinding to a halt. What the hell is going on? Why is Turner in my bed? Wait–this isn’t even my bed! she thought to herself
For a moment, she wondered if she was dreaming, figuring that she’d been obsessing over Turner’s face so much that she‘ d conjured up this absurd fantasy.
But the pounding in her head and the soreness in her body quickly shattered that guess. If this were a dream, it wouldn’t hurt this much.
Her gaze drifted downward, and her breath hitched. Both she and Turner were half–naked,
And that wasn’t all. Turner’s neck and chest were marked with faint bruises and bite marks–undeniable evidence of what had happened between them.
Lucy’s eyes widened in disbelief, her thoughts a jumbled mess. ‘No, this couldn’t be real! It had to be a mistake. Absolutely impossible, she exclaimed in her mind.
She swallowed hard, her throat dry, and cautiously lifted a corner of the blanket to peek underneath.
The moment her eyes landed on Turner’s unmistakable feature, her face turned red. There was no denying it now–she and Turner had really slept together.
Her panicked gaze darted back to Turner, who was still sound asleep. In the soft morning light, his face looked even more mesmerizing, but Lucy had no time to admire it.
All she could think about was getting out of there as soon as possible.
Moving as quietly as she could, she slipped out of bed. Her own clothes were stained with blood and completely unwearable, leaving her no choice but to grab Turner’s oversized shirt.
The shirt hung loosely on her, far too big for her petite frame, but she didn’t care. She threw it on and tiptoed out of the
room.
About half an hour after Lucy left, Turner woke up. He slowly opened his eyes, only to find the bed empty. A flicker of confusion crossed his face.
He casually lifted the blanket, and the sight of the crumpled, tangled sheets, like a battlefield of passion, immediately caught his eye. His gaze narrowed as he took it in.
As he stared at the sheets, flashes of last night’s wild passion flooded his mind. A faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
He picked up his phone and dialed Lucy’s number. As he was mentally calculating how he would amuse her later, he found that the call wouldn’t go through. He dialed several more times in a row, but still to no avail.
His expression grew darker, and a sneer twisted the corner of his mouth. “Lucy, you really know how to push my buttons. You block me after all that? Your mom works at the Campbell residence. I’d like to see where you can hide.”
The Campbell residence had been a peaceful and happy place for Camila these past few days. Her days w focused on needle work. She was eagerly anticipating the completion of her embroidery project.

At first, she would wake up early every morning, determined to prepare a nutritious breakfast, especially the meatball soup that Giovani loved so much.
But Giovani, always concerned about her health, firmly forbade her from waking up early to overwork herself. His stern yet caring gaze left her no room to argue, and she had no choice but to give up.
Since making breakfast was no longer an option, Camila began sleeping in every day. By the time she woke up today, Giovani had already left for work.
Camila sat alone at the dining table, enjoying Successfully unlocked! walked in with a cheerful step and a warm
smile. “Ms. Jackson, can I take a day off tomor.
“What for, Hazel?” Camila asked curiously.
Hazel smiled and explained, “It’s Lucy’s birthday tomorrow. It’s been such a long time since she and I had a proper meal together,”

Camila’s eyes lit up at the mention of Lucy’s birthday. “Let’s celebrate Lucy’s birthday together tomorrow. Right, let’s have a meal together today. How about we pick her up after school tonight?”
“Sounds good,” Hazel agreed with a nod. She picked up her phone and said, “I’ll message Lucy right now.”
Meanwhile, Lucy was lying on her dorm bed, bored out of her mind. ‘Shoot. How did I end up sleeping with Turner? Sure, he‘
s ridiculously handsome, but that doesn’t mean I should’ve lost all self–control” she screamed in her mind.
The memory of her drunken antics–clinging to Turner and making a complete fool of herself–made her want to hide somewhere and never come out.
Just then, her phone buzzed with a notification. Lucy grabbed it and saw a message from Camila.
Camila: [Lucy, Hazel and I will pick you up after school tonight.]
‘Why is Camila suddenly planning to pick me up with Mom?‘ Lucy stared at the message, puzzled and uneasy. ‘Are they planning to take me to the Campbell residence? No way–what if I run into Turner? I’ll die of embarrassment, she thought. Lucy: [Where are we going? What’s the plan?]
Camila: [To a restaurant. Let’s have a meal together and discuss the birthday celebration.]
Lucy: [Birthday celebration? Camila, didn’t you already celebrate your birthday?]
Camila couldn’t help but laugh out loud when she saw the message. Turning to Hazel, she said, “Look at this, Hazel. Lucy’s so busy with her studies that she forgot her own birthday.”
Hazel glanced at the message and chuckled. “That girl takes after you–always so focused on her studies. She’s such a sweet and diligent child, never gives me any trouble.”
Camila nodded, fully agreeing with Hazel’s words.
In Camila’s eyes, Lucy was kind–hearted, hardworking, and beautiful inside and out. Ever since Lucy got into Sancho University of Science and Technology, she had been winning scholarships year after year.
All Camila wanted was for Lucy to be happy. But she couldn’t help worrying that Lucy, being so kind and trusting, might be vulnerable to being taken advantage of, just as Camila herself had been.
