Camila stood a few feet away, watching Belinda with a complex blend of emotions. ‘Belinda, did you ever think that falling for a jerk and rushing into marriage would completely destroy your life?

‘Your son is in prison, your daughter is crippled for life, and you’ve even lost an eye. You could’ve had a dazzling future, but your narrow–mindedness and sheer stupidity brought you to this point. You deserve every bit of this.”
A cold sneer played on Camila’s lips. Having a mother like Belinda was the greatest shame of her life. She despised Arthur, but her hatred for Belinda ran deeper.
For over two decades, Camila’s life had been nothing but pure misery. Arthur had set everything in motion, but Belinda was far from innocent.
Camila’s expression remained icy as she watched Belinda cradle a lifeless doll in her arms, gently rocking it as though it were a real baby. Then, Belinda began murmuring to the empty air, her voice soft and trembling.
“Camila, my sweet girl,” she whispered. “Mommy will protect you. I won’t let the bad people take you away again. You believe me, don’t you? Mommy loves you so, so much.”
She pressed a tender kiss to the doll’s face, her movements filled with a haunting gentleness, as if the doll were her most precious treasure.
Camila’s eyes hardened with pure mockery. ‘Love? Where were you when it mattered? Now that you’ve lost everything, you suddenly want to play the loving mother? Well, it’s too late.‘
Seeing Belinda finally get what she deserved lifted a heavy weight from Camila’s heart.
She felt no need to stay any longer. After all, during the dark days when she was wrongfully imprisoned, Belinda hadn’t bothered to show her face even
once.
Camila hadn’t come here to show concern. She just wanted to witness the pathetic downfall of Belinda, who had caused her so much pain. Now that she’d seen it, she could walk away without a second thought.
Just as Camila was about to turn and leave, a madman lunged at Belinda, snatched the doll from her hands, and bolted away.
Belinda, who had been lost in a tender fantasy, erupted with fury the moment her “daughter” was taken.
“No–my baby! Stop! Give her back to me!” Belinda screamed, her voice raw with desperation as she chased after the lunatic with all her might.
But the madman was too fast. No matter how hard Belinda tried, she couldn’t catch up. “Give her back! Camila-” she wailed desperately.
After running a good distance, the madman realized Belinda hadn’t caught up. He stopped and spun around. Seeing Belinda’s heart–wrenching sobs, he let out a crazy laugh, revealing a set of crooked teeth. “Crying! So fun!”
Belinda trembled with rage, pointing at the madman as she shouted, “Give my daughter back.”
But the madman treated it like a game. “No way. Come hit me if you dare,” he taunted, raising the doll and slamming it onto the ground with force.
Each impact felt like a hammer blow to Belinda’s heart. Her eyes turned bloodshot. “I’ll kill you, you monster!” she shouted, charging forward again.
The madman grabbed the doll, bursting into wild, maniacal laughter as he darted away.
Belinda chased after him relentlessly, but once again, she failed to catch up.
Suddenly, she froze in place–she spotted Camila, who was standing not far away.
Her eyes locked onto Camila, flickering with recognition, confusion, and finally, clarity. Tears streamed down her face, yet a smile appeared as she reached out her hand, “Oh, Camila. You finally came to see me?”

Chapter 182
Camila just looked at Belinda, her gaze devoid of any emotion, as if Belinda were some random stranger.
Belinda staggered toward her, muttering. “Camila, I’ve missed you so much. Please stay with me. Don’t leave again.”
Just as she was about to reach Camila, the medical staff stepped in, blocking her path.

Belinda thrashed wildly, her voice hoarse as she screamed, “Let me go! That’s my daughter. I need to hold her. Her hands clawed at the air, her strength
almost terrifying.
Camila stood there, her eyes icy. Once she let go of her obsession, she saw the truth–the motherly love she had craved desperately now seemed
insignificant.
“Mrs. Jackson, this is goodbye.” Camila’s voice was calm and distant, her faint smile carrying a sense of finality. She turned to Sean and said, “Let’s go.”
Even in her unstable state, Belinda understood Camila’s words. She shook her head frantically, her voice trembling with desperation. “No, don’t leave. I’ll protect you–I can’t lose you again.”
But no matter how much she screamed and begged, Camila just kept walking–not even bothering to glance back, like she couldn’t hear a thing,
As Camila disappeared into the distance, Belinda’s last shred of sanity collapsed. Her voice, hoarse from shouting, came out like a wounded animal’s desperate growling. “Don’t go, please.”
Her frantic struggle was so intense that it took several medical staff members all their strength to restrain her–and they were barely managing to keep
her under control.
At that moment, a doctor stepped forward and swiftly injected a sedative into Belinda’s arm.
Belinda’s body jolted, her consciousness fading. Yet, her eyes remained locked on Camila’s retreating back, burning with a desperate longing that
refused to dim.
The medical staff surrounded Belinda. One of them said, “She’s totally losing it today. Better strap her to the bed before she wakes up and causes more
trouble.”
“Alright,” another said, nodding. Then they dragged Belinda away roughly, without a hint of tenderness.
Meanwhile, Camila stepped out of the psychiatric hospital and took a deep breath, savoring the air of freedom.
“Ms. Jackson, where to next?” Sean asked.
