Chapter 209 Camila Extra 3

Chapter 209 Camila Extra 3

Camila clung tightly to Irene. She was trembling all over as tears streamed down her cheeks, soaking Irene’s shoulder. Irene’s eyes reddened as she gently patted Camila’s back, her voice thick with emotion. Silly girl, why are you being so formal with me? This is your home now. Whatever you want, just tell me, and I’ll make it happen.

Camila turned her head and planted a soft kiss on Irene’s cheek. Mom, you’re the best.

That kiss melted Irene’s heart completely. She knew, without a doubt, that adopting this sweet girl was the best decision she had ever made.

Camila was so thoughtful and adorable, even giving her a kiss. Irene felt like her heart was about to burst with joy. Being kissed by her sweet daughter was pure bliss.

Unlike Joseph, who always had a poker face, Camila was much more adorable.

Overwhelmed with joy, Irene hugged Camila tightly and planted a loud kiss on her cheek. She even snuggled against Camila, savoring the sweet, comforting scent of her little girl, feeling utterly content.

Harrison watched the heartwarming scene between them, a pang of jealousy rising in his chest. So far, Camila had never hugged or kissed him.

Harrison cleared his throat, crouching down in front of Camila. His gaze was intense, filled with anticipation.

Camila, I picked this room just for you. I made sure everything was just right. Do you like it? His voice carried a hint of nervousness, as if he was waiting for something.

Camila froze for a moment, unsure if she was interpreting his actions correctly. Her previous life had left her deeply scarred by the indifference and cruelty of her biological parents.

She had poured her heart out to them, but all she got in return was coldness and ridicule. Their treatment had crushed her confidence, making her afraid to guess their intentions. Every time she tried to consider their feelings, she was met with rejection.

Now, seeing Harrison’s cautious yet hopeful expression, waiting for her to kiss and hug him, Camila couldn’t help but doubt herself if she was overthinking this.

But as she looked into his eyes, filled with a mix of careful longing and genuine hope, her heart softened.

Harrison and Irene were nothing like her parents from her previous life. This time, she believed her love and trust wouldn’t be wasted.

Summoning her courage, Camila reached out her chubby little hands to cup Harrison’s refined, handsome face. Then, she leaned in and kissed his cheek.

Harrison’s eyes lit up instantly, a wide smile spreading across his face. The joy and happiness in his expression were impossible to hide.

They are right. Daughters really are little treasures. So sweet and thoughtful!Harrison thought to himself.

Harrison’s heart felt like it was about to burst with joy, but he forced himself to stay calm so he wouldn’t scare Camila. Still, he couldn’t resist picking her up and spinning her around a few times.

Irene watched the scene and teased him with a playful scold, Look at you, acting like a big kid. Don’t scare Camila.* Despite her words, the smile on her lips gave her away, and her eyes were filled with warmth and affection.

Standing off to the side, Joseph watched the heartwarming scene, feeling a pang of envy.

He wanted a hug and kiss from Camila too. Tugging nervously at the hem of his shirt, he mumbled, I picked out all the toys in your room. Do you like them? His face turned bright red.

Peeking out from Harrison’s arms, Camila found Joseph’s reaction both amusing and endearing.

A little boy was trying to act all grownup. It was such a funny contrast that she couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly. She wriggled free from Harrison’s embrace.

Harrison felt a pang of emptiness as his arms were left holding nothing. His face fell, looking as if he hadn’t had enough of the moment.

Camila walked up to Joseph and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. Thanks, Joseph. It’s so great to have you,she said brightly.

Camila had a knack for making everyone feel special. She treated Harrison, Irene, and Joseph equally, leaving all three of them grinning from ear to ear.

Joseph, now rewarded, turned as red as a tomato. He stammered, Camila, don’t mention it. II’ll always protect you.Harrison and Irene exchanged a knowing smile as they watched their children interact. The entire room seemed to glow

with warmth and happiness.

At that moment, the butler entered and respectfully announced, Mr. and Mrs. Stuard, dinner is ready

Irene took Camila’s hand and said, Come on, Camila, let’s eat.

They moved to the dining room, where a feast of mouthwatering dishes awaited them.

As Camila looked at the spread, her nose tingled, and tears threatened to spill.

She scolded herself inwardly, thinking, How desperate for love am I, that every little act of kindness makes me want to cry? In the three years she spent with the Jackson family, no one had ever waited for her to eat together, nor had she ever had a proper meal. All she ever ate were cold leftovers.

Ever since she came to the Jackson residence, there had been no leftovers in the fridge. Nothing was ever wasted, but that was because all the scraps ended up on her plate.

Back then, even the dog in the Jackson family lived better than she did. The dog’s meals were carefully balanced for nutrition, while she wasn’t even deemed worthy of fresh food.

As she gazed at the table overflowing with food, memories of the Jackson family’s cruelty came rushing back.

Camila, you must be hungry. Come here and sit next to me. You can eat whatever you like, Irene said warmly. And so, the family of four sat down to eat together.

Camila ate happily, her face lit up with gratitude and joy. Seeing her savor the food so much, Harrison, Irene, and Joseph found their own appetites growing. They chatted and laughed as they ate, their happiness filling the dining room. After dinner, Irene took Camila to the bathroom for a bath.

Once the bath was done, Camila changed into soft, comfy pajamas. Irene carried her to bed, tucked her in snugly, and started telling her a bedtime story.

Her voice was gentle and soothing, like a soft melody filling the room.

As Camila listened, her eyelids grew heavier and heavier until she drifted off into a sweet, peaceful sleep.

Irene gazed at the sleeping Camila, kissed her gently on the forehead, and got up to turn off the light. She tiptoed to the door but paused, glancing back at Camila.

Unable to resist the pull of the adorable Camila, she turned back, climbed carefully into bed, and hugged Camila close. Only then did she close her eyes with a contented smile.

Meanwhile, Harrison was left waiting in the master bedroom. He waited and waited. An entire hour passed, yet Irene still hadn’t returned.

Why isn’t she back yet?Harrison muttered, tossing and turning in frustration. Finally, he sat up, left the master bedroom, and headed to Camila’s room.

Under the soft glow of moonlight, he saw the heartwarming sight of Irene and Camila cuddled together, their faces serene and peaceful.

Harrison tiptoed onto the bed, settling on Camila’s other side. He stretched out his arm to embrace both his wife and daughter, a satisfied smile tugging at his lips. Only then did he close his eyes and drift off to sleep.

In Joseph’s bedroom, his face was filled with pride, a big change from his usual self. His little hands quickly tapped on the phone screen, sending a photo of Camila to the group chat.

Elliot: [Whoa, what an adorable little girl. Joseph, who’s this?]

Zachary: [This has to be some random picture he found online.]

Joseph: [This is my sister.]

Elliot: [Your sister? Yeah, right. Since when do you have a sister?]

Zachary: [Exactly. You don’t even have a cousin, let alone a sister. Where did this cute little girl suddenly come from? Admit it. You’re just jealous I have a sister, aren’t you?]

Elliot: [Poor me. I don’t have a sister either. Neither does Joseph nor Giovani. Zachary is the lucky one here.]

Zachary: [Giovani, come on. Say something.]

Giovani: [Joseph, is she really your sister?]

Joseph’s grin widened as he read the messages in the group chat.

Joseph: [Of course. Isn’t my sister the cutest, softest, and prettiest? She even hugged and kissed me today. She’s the best!]

Elliot: [Joseph, if you keep showing off, I’m coming to your house tomorrow to steal your sister.]

Zachary: [Count me in. I need to see if your sister is really cuter than mine.]

Giovani: [I’m coming too.]

Joseph: [Hands off. You’re not getting her.]

After bragging about Camila, Joseph placed his phone on the bedside table, feeling ridiculously satisfied. But as he lay in bed, all he could think about was Camila’s chubby, adorable face. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t fall asleep. After tossing and turning for a while, he finally sat up.

It’s her first night here. She must be scared of sleeping all alone. What if she wakes up in the dark? She’ll cry for sure. Yeah, I’ll stay with her tonight,” Joseph said to himself.

With his mind made up, Joseph got out of bed, grabbed his pillow, and headed to mila’s room.

Clutching his pillow, he tiptoed across the hallway. The moonlight streaming through the windows cast his small shadow on the floor.

He gently pushed open Camila’s door. The door creaked softly, sounding loud in the quiet night. He froze, listening for any movement inside. Thankfully, there was none.

He crept into the room, guided by the faint moonlight filtering through the window. On the bed, he saw three figures.

Irene had Camila tightly wrapped in her arms, with Camila’s little head resting against her chest as she slept soundly.

Harrison’s arm was casually draped over both Camila and Irene, a contented smile on his face.

Joseph froze on the spot, his eyes widened as jealousy bubbled up inside him. He muttered, They said they adopted her to keep me company, but look at them hogging her. I haven’t even had my turn yet.”

He stood by the bed for a long time, trying to find a spot where he could squeeze in. But the double bed was completely packed, leaving no room for him.

Unwilling to give up, he circled the bed, searching for a solution, but eventually let out a resigned sigh.

Softly, he whispered, Goodnight, Camila. Then he reluctantly left the room.

The next morning, Camila slowly woke up. As soon as she opened her eyes, she was greeted by Irene’s stunningly beautiful face.

Camila blinked in surprise. Mom?

Oh, my sweetie is awake,” Irene said with a warm smile, her eyes full of tenderness.

Hearing someone call her sweetiefor the first time, Camila blushed. Mom, why are you in my bed?

I was worried you might feel scared during the night, so I stayed with you. Did you sleep okay, sweetie?Irene asked gently.

Camila slept like a baby last night. The soft bed, the cozy room, and the clean sheets were so perfect.

In fact, she had slept so soundly that she didn’t even dream, nor did she realize Irene had stayed with her the entire night.

Camila reached out her chubby little hands and hugged Irene’s neck tightly. Mom, thank you for being so good to me.
