However, the driver acted as if he hadn’t heard her
His expression was full of disdain, the corner of his mouth curling into a mocking smirk. To him, Camila was nothing but trash. He looked her up and down with a condescending gaze, then let out a scomful snort through his nose, refusing to budge
A surge of anger flared within Camila. “I said, move!”
Her voice rose, carrying a hint of hysteria.
She reached out to shove him, but the driver was a towering mon, solid as a brick wall Pushing him was like trying to move an unshakable mountain–completely useless.
Suddenly, the driver swung his massive hand toward her face.
The slap came fast, slicing through the air with a sharp whoosh
Hazel, who had been right behind Camila, gasped in horror Without thinking, she lunged forward and yanked Camila aside.
The slap landed squarely on Hazel’s face, sending her crashing to the ground.
“Hazel” Camila’s eyes filled with anguish. Her hands trembled, fists clenched as she fought back tears of rage and frustration.
Hazel, wincing in pain, gritted her teeth and struggled to her feet. Pointing a shaking finger at the driver, she hissed, “You’re just the Jackson family’s driver, and yet you dare lay a hand on Miss Jackson?”
The driver sneered, his face twisted in contempt. “Miss Jackson? What a joke! There’s only one Miss Jackson in the Jackson family, and that’s Agnes. Who does she think she is?”
Camila’s fists tightened, her whole body trembling with fury.
Meanwhile, Lindsey and Keira had just finished checking in at the hospital and were heading toward the patient rooms when they stumbled upon the chaotic scene of the driver berating Camila
Lindsey’s gaze landed on Camila, and her eyes widened in shock. She studied the girl carefully.
“Why does that girl look so much like Glovani’s girlfriend?” Lindsey muttered.
Keira took a closer look, and realization struck her like a bolt of lightning. No wonder she found the girl familiar when she saw the photo–this was the same girl she had rescued at Neelum City’s train station over a month ago!
At the time, the girl had been desperately trying to escape from her own brother, even calling Keira “Mom” in a desperate plea for help. Keira’s heart had softened, and she had stepped in to save her.
Keira gasped, “Lindsey, do you remember the girl I told you about from Neelum City train station?”
Lindsey frowned. “I do. Why bring that up now?”
Keira pointed at Camila, her voice tinged with excitement. “That girl–it’s her!”
“What?” Lindsey staggered back, barely keeping her balance.
Back then, when Keira had told her the story, Lindsey had felt nothing but heartache for the girl. It was clear she had suffered immensely–why else would she risk running away in the dead of night instead of returning home?
Now, knowing this was Giovanis girlfriend, Lindsey’s heart ached even more.
