Chapter 75 Michael Gives Camila Red Roses
Michael didn’t dwell on it. He drove out of Mercy Hospital, heading toward Healthcare Hospital.
Halfway there, something crossed his mind, and he abruptly pulled over in front of a flower shop.
It was the weekend, and the shop was crowded with customers buying flowers.
Dressed in casual clothes, Michael’s tall figure and handsome features, along with his meticulously styled hair, gave off an air of carefree arrogance.
A shop assistant quickly noticed him and approached with a warm smile. “Sir, are you buying flowers for someone?” “Yeah.” He responded lazily.
Since he was visiting Camila, it wouldn’t be right to go empty–handed. She was so pitiful–buying her a bouquet might cheer her up
The real reason, however, was that he had always treated her harshly in the past. Today he figured he’d take the opportunity to offer some flowers as a silent apology.
But he was Michael. Apologizing out loud was out of the question.
The shop assistant asked, “Are the flowers for a man or a woman?”
“A woman,” Michael replied casual
aw
The assistant sized him up, thinking. This guy looks wealthy. If he’s buying flowers for a woman, he must be trying to win her heart!
Her smile deepened. “Leave it to us. We’ll make sure you’re satisfied.”
Michael didn’t argue. He didn’t know much about flowers anyway, so it outside the shop, smoking while waiting.
it was her
best to let the professionals handle it. He stood
With his rebellious charm and striking looks, Michael naturally drew the attention of passersby–especially women. Many stole glances, and some even mustered the courage to approach him.
Finally, a young, beautiful woman gathered enough nerve, took out her phone, and began walking toward him.
Just as she was about to reach him, the shop assistant came out, holding a large bouquet. “Sir, your flowers are ready”
Ninety–nine fresh, vibrant red roses were placed before Michael.
Even if he wasn’t an expert on flowers, he knew what red roses symbolized
Giving them to Camila, a sick patient, was obviously inappropriate.
He wanted to refuse, but with so many people watching, returning them would be embarrassing. He was Michael–a top doctor at Mercy Hospital–he couldn’t afford to lose face like that.
Besides, Camila wasn’t someone with much romantic sensibility. She probably wouldn’t even understand the meaning of red roses.
With that thought, Michael silently accepted the bouquet.
The shop assistant winked. “Good luck! I’m rooting for you!”
Meanwhile, the girl who had approached him saw the enormous bouquet and immediately assumed he had a girlfriend. Blushing, she turned around and walked away in embarrassment.
Michael handed the shop assistant some cash, not even bothering to take the change.
“Have a great day, sir! The assistant grinned.
Michael returned to his car, placing the bouquet on the passenger seat.
He started the engine and continued toward Healthcare Hospital.
Along the way, he glanced at the flowers, imagining Camila’s shocked and tearful reaction upon receiving them. His lips. curled slightly.
In Healthcare Hospital, although Michael didn’t work there, he frequently visited for academic discussions. With his good looks and reputation, the hospital staff all recognized him.
Seeing him carrying such a grand bouquet of red roses, the nurses exchanged gossiping glances filled with curiosity and
amusement
“Dr. Walker, are you visiting a patient?” one of them teased.
Michael smiled faintly. “Yeah. A patient.” A very sick one.

He approached the nurses station and casually asked, “Is there a patient named Camila here?”
The nurse hesitated briefly before nodding. “Oh, Camila? She’s in Room 12 on the third floor”

It wasn’t surprising that the nurse remembered her. After all, Camila’s husband was incredibly handsome–perhaps even more so than Michael
However, seeing Michael carrying such a large bouquet of red roses to visit another man’s wife… It felt a little inappropriate.
Michael didn’t care about the strange looks from others. He simply thanked the nurse and strode confidently to Camila’s hospital room
He expected to find her lying weakly in bed. Instead, the room was empty.
His heart sank. “Did Camilla leave already?”
Just as he was wondering, he heard the sound of a toilet flushing.
The next moment, Camila, dressed in a hospital gown, stepped out of the bathroom.
The moment she saw Michael standing there unexpectedly, her mind went blank.
When she finally processed the situation, her already pale face turned even whiter,
Camila thought, Michael found me? Does that mean the Jackson family knows I’m here too?”
A bone chilling fear gripped her. Without a second thought, she turned and ran.
Michael tossed the bouquet onto the bed and took a few quick strides, easily catching up. He grabbed her wrist and yanked her back forcefully
“Why are you running? You think I’m going to eat you?” he scoffed.
Camila’s terrified eyes widened as she struggled frantically, her voice shaking. “What do you want? Did the Jackson family send you?”
Just the thought of being dragged back, falsely accused once more, made her body tremble uncontrollably.
Michael sighed, letting go of her wrist. “I just came to see you. Don’t assume the worst of me.”
“See me?” Camila sneered. “You’re all the same. You just want to destroy me.”
Being misunderstood so harshly irritated Michael.
