But, now that she was long gone, she heard her own flat, detached voice: “Okay.” Calm and indifferent, like a stranger.
Ethan Carter was silent for two seconds, then hung up without warning, and Emma. Johnson didn’t really care, she was used to his moodiness anyway.
Back in the office again, the trash on the table had been cleared away, Rachel Smith looked at her cautiously: “Emma, don’t you worry about it, no matter who bullies you in the future, I will help you, don’t you worry!”
She was afraid that she would feel sad?
Emma suddenly smiled, thinking that she was a little too nervous, but more than that, she was touched.
