Chapter 27
“Of course I believe you.”
Ethan Carter raised an eyebrow, his eyes softening. Even though Olivia Brooks had denied what she’d done, his heart had gotten the answer it wanted.
“Then why did you just ask me so aggressively?” Olivia said with a disgruntled pout, pouting.
She snuck a sigh of relief as the tension in her head dissipated, thankfully Ethan hadn’t pressed further.
“Ethan, why do I always feel that you are intentionally defending Emma Johnson, do you still have feelings for her?” Olivia gazed tearfully at Ethan, desperate to get a negative answer out of him.
Ethan froze in his tracks. He didn’t know what had happened to him, but he couldn’t help but follow Emma, and when he saw that she had been wronged, he always wanted. to help her clear her name.
“Ethan,” Olivia called out when he didn’t respond, pulling him out of his thoughts.
“You’re overthinking it, let’s forget about the past, don’t be paranoid all the time, and just do your own thing.” Ethan said meaningfully.
The reason why he didn’t reveal Olivia was to give her some face. There are some things that are not good for everyone if they are made too clear, so it is better to turn a blind eye, as long as she doesn’t do anything too much, everything is fine.
“I know.” Olivia bit her lip gently, not wanting to be a good girl, she agreed.
“Hmph, I really don’t know what this Emma woman is capable of, to make Ethan protect her so much.” She secretly slandered in her heart, but on the surface she looked harmless, but inwardly she was extremely ruthless and jealous.
“Alright, you go out and get busy first, I have a meeting later.” Ethan retracted his eyes, and started to deal with the documents on the desk, Olivia could only turn around and leave. She knew that Ethan hated to be disturbed when he was working, and if she stayed any longer, she was really making a fool of herself.
