“Ethan Carter, we’re getting a divorce. You can’t do this!”

The word ‘divorce’ instantly awakened a shred of sanity in him. Ethan rolled over onto his side, pinched his brow, and said in a muffled voice, “I’m sorry.”

Mr. Carter Sr. had just said that she had always wanted to have a child, but for three years, Ethan hadn’t taken any measures, thinking that if they had a child, it would keep her with him. But in those three years, she hadn’t shown any signs of pregnancy. The old man had spoken a little too harshly just now, and Ethan thought Emma had mentioned something to Grandpa, which had caused him to reprimand him in that way.

Thinking that she had agreed to the divorce, his originally relaxed mood was now tinged with unhappiness. Didn’t she love him very much? Why did she agree to divorce so easily? Could it be that her emotions were all fake?

After this argument, Emma had some insomnia. She didn’t dare to look at Ethan, only closing her eyes and pretending to sleep.

When she saw the frown on his face, Emma immediately withdrew her gaze, dressed quickly, and ran to the bathroom to wash up.

When she came out of the bathroom, Ethan was changing clothes. His broad chest and robust body, without a trace of excess fat, fully exemplified the phrase “muscular when shirtless, lean when dressed.”
