“Emma, you must take good care in the company, don’t let her suffer in any way, or I won’t let you go.” 

Mr. Carter Sr. changed his usual kind face, and urged seriously. 

“Got it, Grandpa.” 

Mr. Carter Sr.’s face eased a little when he saw him agreeing. His purpose of coming to the company was to see Emma, since Emma was not here, there was no need for him to stay, so he just prepared to leave. 

“Emma has been away for so many years, now that she’s back, you should bring her home for dinner tonight.” 

Mr. Carter Sr. walked to the door, suddenly stopped his footsteps, turned back and emphasized once again. Ethan froze for a moment when he heard this, the matter of bringing Emma back is not a small difficulty, when he wanted to open his mouth to refuse, the old man had already disappeared from sight. 

Ethan had a hard time talking about the task that the old man had left for him. Based on Emma’s usual attitude towards him, he seemed to have guessed how she would answer. Since the old man had already given his word, he could only give it a try for the time being. Ethan took out his cell phone, stared at the number on the screen, hesitated for a moment, and finally dialed it. 

“Ethan, what is it?” The phone was quickly connected, Emma’s lazy voice came. 

She was sleeping beautifully, but was awakened by this sudden call. 

“Grandpa heard that you’ve returned to China, and just came to the company to look for you, only to find that you weren’t there, so he asked me to bring you back tonight to have a dinner together.” 

Ethan directly told Emma his purpose, tone with some expectation, for some reason, his heart is very happy Emma can go back with him to have dinner with grandpa.

Three Years to Love 

In fact, she didn’t have anything to do tonight, the reason why she politely refused, was that she didn’t want to have any relationship with Ethan other than work. 

As expected, Emma refused, and Ethan was a bit lost in his heart. 

“Grandpa’s words I have already conveyed to you, as for going or not, you go and explain to the old man yourself.” 

He hung up the phone directly after saying that, not giving Emma a chance to speak. 

Emma, who was originally sleepy, was immediately energized after receiving the call. She felt very torn, rejecting all of Ethan’s requests without hesitation was not a problem for her, but for Mr. Carter Sr. she couldn’t say anything. 

During the three years she had spent with Ethan, Mr. Carter Sr. had treated her like his own granddaughter, even better than she had treated Ethan. It was because of Mr. Carter Sr.’s support that she was able to stay by her beloved’s side, even though the marriage lasted only three years.
