Emma Johnson put that incident behind her, thinking repeatedly that Ethan Carter’s cuckolding matter had nothing to do with her, and she didn’t need to meddle in it. Returning to her workplace, after dealing with Yu Dong’s affairs, she was ready to leave work. 

“Em, are you free tomorrow morning? Why don’t we go have dinner together?” Rachel Smith approached with a smile and asked expectantly. 

“Yeah!” Emma replied without hesitation. She and Rachel had talked about celebrating the completion of the design, and since they had nothing to do tomorrow, they might as well enjoy dinner together. 

Just as she stepped out of the elevator, a pleasant ringtone rang. Emma took out her cell phone and found that it was a call from Grandpa Carter. She didn’t hesitate to press the answer button. 

“Emma, Grandpa’s birthday is coming up in a few days, so be sure to come!” Grandpa Carter’s kind voice and bright laughter came from the phone. 

He had called Emma specifically because he hoped that she would be able to attend his birthday party, and Emma quickly checked the calendar, and sure enough, Grandpa’s birthday was just around the corner. 

She was hesitant to say yes; Emma didn’t want anything more to do with Ethan Carter, but she couldn’t completely cut ties with Grandpa Carter. 

“Emma, Grandpa’s biggest birthday wish is for you to come to his birthday party.” Grandpa Carter continued when he saw the silence on the other end of the line. 

“Grandpa, Ethan knows, he’ll be there for sure!” Emma tried to look relaxed, and there was no doubt in her mind that she agreed to Grandpa Carter’s request. She just couldn’t bear to deny him his expectations. 

“Rachel, I’m sorry, I really can’t go to dinner with you this time, I suddenly have some things I need to take care of over here.” After hanging up the phone, Emma looked at Rachel with apologies. 

Three Years to Love 

Grandpa Carter’s birthday is coming soon, she can’t go there empty–handed, she must prepare a thoughtful gift, so she had to cancel the appointment with Rachel. 

“It’s okay, just go, and let me know if you need any help.” Rachel waved her hand again. and again, very forgiving. 

Emma left the office and went straight to the mall, she wanted to choose a gift for Grandpa Carter, but after a long time of thinking, she didn’t know what to give him. 

Suddenly she had a bright idea, she entered the mall and went straight to the jade store, Emma decided to choose a jade pendant for her grandfather as a birthday gift. 

“Hello, please show me that one over there.” Emma looked at the wide range of jade, after a lot of careful selection, she finally found one she liked.
