Chapter 73 

“Thank you, Mr. Brown for your kindness, I can get back myself.” 

Emma Johnson refused without hesitation, she wanted nothing to do with this man. 

“Miss Emma is making it a little difficult for me to refuse so hastily.” 

Mr. Brown’s face looked even more somber. 

“Mr. Brown, you mustn’t say that, we’ve only met for the first time, how can I put you to any trouble? Besides, you are a client of the Carter Corporation.” 

Emma smiled a small smile and barely managed to cope, the way Mr. Brown looked her up and down made Emma feel very uncomfortable. 

“What’s so difficult about it, Ms. Emma, please.” 

He said, taking hold of Emma’s arm and tugging her towards the car. 

Emma’s face turned pale, and without hesitation, she broke away from his hand, the anger in her heart having built up to its limit. 

“Mr. Brown, it’s really not necessary, I’ll just take a taxi back by myself.” 

She suppressed her anger, her tone remained calm. 

“Ms. Emma, let’s get right to the point. I took a liking to you the first time I saw you. 

how much, and if you’ll be with me, I’ll do it without reservation.”

Mr. Brown was losing patience, and made his purpose plain. The first time he met Emma, he was smitten. 

Emma froze for a moment, unable to believe her ears, not realizing the absurdity of what she was going through! 

“Well, Ms. Emma?” 

Mr. Brown asked, a little anxiously, when he saw that she was slow to reply. 

Three Years to Love 

Ethan ignored Mr. Brown and looked directly at Emma. 

Emma stood as steady as ever, seemingly oblivious to all that was going on around her. “Mr. Brown, thank you very much for your appreciation, but what you’re saying doesn’t appeal to me in any way, so I hope you’ll behave yourself.” With these words of refusal, she turned around and got into Ethan’s car. 

Mr. Brown froze in place after the rejection, and Ethan seemed to have recognized his ulterior motives. 

“Don’t hit on Emma, or there will be consequences.” 

Ethan’s cold, knife–like gaze was directed at Mr. Brown, sending a bone–chilling chill down his spine. 

“Mr. Carter, may I take the liberty of asking, is Miss Emma one of yours?”
