As they entered the hall, a staff member led them upstairs to the banquet room.
Kieran casually took Lila's coat and draped it over his arm. The guests who had arrived earlier quickly noticed their entrance.
Many greeted Kieran, and as their eyes shifted to the girl at his side, they immediately recognized Lila.
Lila glanced around at the attendees, marveling at how much the Clemence family seemed to value their daughter.
For a welcoming banquet, the scale was impressive. In addition to Kieran, many prominent figures from Northridge had arrived.
Amelia, with her high heels clicking against the floor, walked briskly toward them. "Lila."
Her tone was upbeat as she added, "Come, let me introduce you to today's star."
The star? That must be Ruby, right?
Did Amelia have a good relationship with her?
If so, why did she say, "If you're coming, then I'll come too"?
As Amelia started to pull her along, Lila glanced back at Kieran.
He gave a slight nod, signaling that she could do as she wished.
Before they could move forward, a girl in a stunning white long dress walked toward them, her beauty striking.
She looked at Kieran first, nodded slightly, and smiled brightly. "Uncle Kieran, long time no see."
Kieran lifted his gaze, his voice warmer than usual. "Long time no see."
The girl then turned her attention to Lila. "You must be Uncle Kieran's fiance, right? Amelia was just saying how beautiful you are.
"I thought she was exaggerating, but now that I've met you, I see she was actually holding back."
Her mannerisms and movements were similar to Amelia's but carried a distinct elegance.
Ruby extended her hand to Lila. "Hello, I'm Ruby. I look forward to getting to know you."
