Alyssa responded sleepily, “I won’t be going School has started, and it’s not good to take time off. Besides, I have singing practice in the evening.” 

Adrian originally planned to go straight downstairs, grab a bite to eat, and then head to the film set. 

Joseph and Deborah went to Oceanview City, but it wasn’t a big deal for him, as they would be back in just a few days. 

As for Alyssa, the Mozley family’s housekeeper took good care of her, and she even had someone to pick her up and drop her off at school. 

Donna cared for her deeply, so she specifically arranged for a housekeeper to take care of her daily meals and living 

needs.

Deborah replied, “There are also some things left here by Evelyn that could be useful. We should take them all back 

with us.

After dilly dallying for quite a while, he still didn’t leave. 

Deborah didn’t even bother to expose his lie; after all, this was his home, and he didn’t need her to invite him to sit 

down. 

She pulled Alyssa along, about to enter the bathroom. 

Adrian asked again, “You guys have quite a lot of luggage. Did you drive here? Is it convenient to get to the airport?” 

Deborah didn’t want to beat around the bush with him anymore. She looked at him and said, “It’s not convenient. If it’s okay with you, Mr. Moxley, could you please give us a ride?” 

After some hesitation, Adrian reluctantly nodded in agreement. 

“Alright, I don’t have much to do today anyway. Let me help you guys move your luggage downstairs.” 

Joseph’s attention was almost entirely focused on Deborah, and he hadn’t realized it yet. 

“We can easily manage with our own stuff, just two suitcases, one car is enough to fit them.” 

Adrian pushed a suitcase with one hand and headed outside. 

“We’re all old friends here, no need to be polite. Let me drive and help you with your luggage.” 

Joseph really felt it was unnecessary, as it was broad daylight and Adrian must have his own work to keep him busy. 

He also wanted to go out with him, asking Adrian not to make this extra trip. 

Deborah walked over and stopped him, laughing. “Let him go. What he’s delivering isn’t meant for us.” 

When Joseph’s mind is slow to react, it’s genuinely slow, leaving him with a bewildered expression on his face. 

“Isn’t he giving us a ride? He’s also going to the airport for a business trip, right?” 

Deborah glanced at him with pity, shook her head, and turned to walk toward the bathroom. 

Alyssa couldn’t hold back any longer and burst into laughter behind me with a “pfft” sound. 

Upon seeing that Alyssa seemed to be amused by him, Joseph couldn’t help but laugh along, even though he didn’t quite understand why.

Deborah held a towel as she washed her face, glancing at Alyssa with a smile. “He’s so smart and quick-witted.” 

Alyssa couldn’t help but laugh. “It’s just a bit slower than a computer’s startup speed, I guess.” 

Joseph didn’t think he was slow to react. Seeing Alyssa amused by his teasing, he felt quite a sense of accomplishment. 

Joseph was concerned, however. “Evelyn came here to help me with the acting. If Adrian keeps bothering her in the 

future, I, as the boss, would feel guilty.” 

When he initially invited Evelyn over, he had said it with great confidence. 

Adrian was a flirtatious playboy, incapable of having genuine feelings. When Evelyn came to Moxley Manor, all she needed to do was to casually play along for a few days. 

Alyssa earnestly said, “Adrian isn’t that bad, actually. He may seem unreliable, but he’s actually quite decent.” 

It wasn’t appropriate for Joseph to say much in front of Alyssa. 

However, with Evelyn’s personality, she would want to find a reliable and steady man to live a peaceful life in the 

future. 

Unfortunately, Adrian really didn’t have much to do with being “down-to-earth and steady.” 

Joseph waited for them to finish washing up, and then went downstairs with them.
