Torn Between Love and Hate novel Chapter 237

Chapter 237 Returning to Moxley Manor

Deborah turned around and looked at Mathias standing before her.

Her expression was indifferent yet calm, “Is there something you need?”

As she spoke, she realized that her voice was very soft.

It felt like there was cotton stuck in her throat, making it difficult to speak

With a sinister glint in his eyes, Mathias looked at her with a forced smile.

“You’ve been staying with the Moxley family, right? What have you learned so far? Tell me about it.”

Deborah looked at him with disgust, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Get out of my way, or I’ll call for help right now.”

Mathias glared at her menacingly, “You run pretty fast. I was looking for you, and you came to Oceanview City. But now, even if you want to tell the truth, you don’t have a chance.”

The more Deborah listened, the more she felt that there was something wrong with this man’s mind.

There must have been something on Mathias’ hand when he just covered her mouth and nose.

Deborah’s mind quickly became foggy, and she found it somewhat difficult to speak.

Deborah’s phone was still on the chat interface with Joseph. With her hand in her pocket, she relied on her instincts and made a video call to Joseph.

Mathias, already feeling triumphant, put on his mask and proceeded to lead her away through the fire escape.

From Deborah’s pocket, Joseph’s voice quickly came through, “Debby, what’s wrong?”

Mathias quickly changed his expression and swiftly snatched the cellphone from Deborah’s pocket.

He immediately hung up the video call and threw her phone straight into the nearby trash can.

The ringing of the cell phone in the trash can soon followed, as Joseph made another call.

Mathias dragged Deborah into the fire escape, angrily cursing as he gripped her hair tightly.

“How dare you make a phone call when you’re on the brink of death!”

Deborah truly had no idea where Mathias’ hostility toward her came from.

She thought and pondered, but still couldn’t understand.

It can’t be just because that night, he got drunk and barged into her bedroom, only to be beaten up by Adrian, right?

So, he traveled all the way to Oceanview City just to vent his frustration?

Deborah recalled Mathias’ recent words, asking her if she had known something all along.

He even said she’ll never have the chance to speak the truth again.

What on earth did it mean? The more she thought about it, the more confused she became, and yet her head throbbed uncontrollably.

What is the truth, and what truths are there?

As Mathias dragged her downstairs, he said menacingly, “I just want to take back what my daughter has in her hands.

don’t ex

I’m telling you, you’re dreaming! It’s impossible! Those things already belong to my daughter, to us, so don’t even

think about it!”

Deborah recalled that Mathias’s daughter was Rebecca.

He said he wanted to snatch something from Rebecca’s hands. Could it he that he was referring to Ashton?

So, is she in this situation now because of Ashton’s doing?

Deborah struggled to make herself heard as she explained, “I really have nothing to do with Ashton anymore. If your daughter likes him, let them be together and live their lives. I’m not getting involved, you’re really overthinking this.”

Mathias didn’t understand what she was saying and thought she was playing dumb and talking nonsense on purpose.

He simply grabbed her hair and left through the fire escape.

“Keep pretending, but you won’t be able to keep it up for long! Everything about the Moxley family, don’t even think about it, it has nothing to do with you anymore!”

Deborah’s head was throbbing painfully, as if it was filled with glue.

No, if you’re going to catch me, at least explain things clearly first.

It seemed like he was trying to confuse her. She couldn’t understand a single word he said, leaving her clueless about his intentions.

Mathias led Deborah through the fire escape, taking her to a back door.

Stepping outside, she was shoved into a dilapidated minivan.

Deborah had grown somewhat accustomed to it. Every time she was kidnapped or held hostage, there always seemed to be a run-down minivan involved.

From now on, she’ll probably have a psychological aversion to minivans.

After Mathias pushed her in, he followed and sat down as well.

Deborah, having been held hostage several times before, didn’t feel too scared.

She was genuinely curious and tried to ask Mathias again, “If you’re going to catch me, just catch me. But can you at least explain why?”

With a face full of anger and hatred, Mathias glared at her, “Don’t play dumb! Let me tell you, you won’t be able to escape today, so stop dreaming!”

Deborah’s attitude was sincere, “I’m not playing dumb, I really don’t understand. What exactly do you want to do?”

She and Mathias were really not familiar with each other at all.

Mathias said angrily, “Go ahead, keep pretending! You won’t be able to keep up the act for long!”

Deborah was speechless.

She didn’t even want to talk anymore.

Mathias led her to a corner and then pulled her down.

He seemed to have no experience in kidnapping others. As Deborah was dragged down and fell to the ground, he just stared at her.

After staring for quite a while, he seemed a bit unsure about how to proceed.

After a long time, he finally spoke fiercely, “Stop pretending! I’m asking you one last time, do you know everything? Do you want to return to the Moxley family? If you don’t tell the truth now, what are your plans?”

Is it possible that she wants to gather evidence against me, Cassandra, and Rebecca before revealing her connection to the Moxley family?

So, she plans to take revenge by forcing our entire family of three to our deaths?

Deborah looked at him and said, “Well, tell me what I should know.”

Mathias was convinced that she was just playing dumb. Annoyed and somewhat embarrassed, he approached her, ready to hit her.
