Triplets for the Billionaire novel (Oliver Gusto) novel Chapter 18

“We saw Lewis and Natasha.”

“Where? When?” She asked in a low but commanding tone. She was confused but needed them to shed more light.

“Your birthday party.”

Katherine nodded, encouraging him to keep talking.

“We saw them kiss.”

Kathie frowned.

“Kissing?” The triplets nodded simultaneously.

Kathie was silent for almost a minute, trying to make sense of what She just heard.

“They are siblings. It could be a friendly kiss on the cheek. Just like the kiss you give your sister.”

“No, mama.” Sophie voiced out.

“It wasn’t on the cheek,” Sebastian added.

“Are you guys sure?” Katherine said, looking so confused already. Her birthday party was held at the mansion almost nine months ago.

The triplets nodded in unison.

“Where did you see them?”

“The kitchen. When you ask us to go meet Alice for cookies. But they didn’t see us”

“See, mommy is sad. You should not have said anything.” Sophie glared at Sammy.

“Is that why you guys didn’t tell me? You thought I would be sad?”

“Are you not sad?” Sebastian alleged. “You like Lewis very much and we knew you wouldn't be happy hearing this. We didn’t want you to be sad.”

Katherine sighed. “I understand that you all have my interest at heart but that doesn’t justify you keeping secrets from me.”

“You’re sad about it. Aren’t you?”

“I’m shocked but I’ll get over it. I also promise to act on it.”

“We are sorry, mama. We did not mean to keep secrets from you.” Sophie said, her eyes were already teary. She could be emotional sometimes.

“Come here, baby.” Kathie gestured and Sophie crawled towards her mother. By the time she cuddled her daughter, the little girl was already crying on her shoulders.

“It’s okay baby, don’t cry.” She patted her back, trying to calm her.

Before Kathie knew it too, her sons were by her side, trying to calm their sister.

Katherine couldn’t help but think that was the only trait her daughter got from her. Being emotional and kind. The rest was from her father, including his looks. The little girl was like his female version.

“Mama is not sad or angry. So there’s nothing to be sad about.

“Ar....are you sure?” She said in between hiccups.

“Yes, my love. You know I don’t like it when you cry. It makes me sad.

Knowing she was doing what could make her mama sad, Sophie stopped crying immediately.

Getting out of her mother’s hold, her brothers gave her a joint hug which warmed Katherine’s heart. She was grateful for the bond between the trio. She chuckled when they helped her wipe her teary face. Sammy focused on one eye while Sebastian focused on the other eye. There was no tissue nearby so they were wiping the tears off with their pajamas shirt. Kathie was grateful the boys were so protective of their sister.

“What will you do now?” Sebby asked his mom after Sophie was back to her normal self.

“There’s no need to worry, honey. Mama will be fine.”

“What do you want us to do for fun this weekend?” She said, intentionally changing the topic.

After they were done with their discussions, Katherine read some bedtime stories to her kids. The trio only fell asleep when She was almost done with the fourth story.

Katherine's bed was big enough to contain her and her three babies so they usually spend Friday nights with her.

She laid them properly on their preferred sides after which she covered them with the duvet. Then she picked up her phone from the nightstand and exited the room, quietly shutting the door behind her.

Just as she was about to dial Michie, her phone rang and it was indeed Michie.

A small smile appeared on Katherine's lips as She slid to pick up the call and brought the phone to her ear as she made her way towards the balcony.

"Was just about to call you."

"Hi, love. How did your day go?"

"Stressful. Yours?"

"Fine. Tell me about it." Michelle said.

"Lewis sent me gifts. Flowers and a gold necklace."

"Isn't your fiance doing too much already? That's so sweet of him."

"Yeah. Then when I called to thank him, he told me to stay away from Natasha."

"Why?" Michelle sounded confused.

"I guess they got into a fight or something. But I know something isn't right."

"For a while now, he would dismiss our conversation whenever I asked about her. He said she's not happy with the proposal and wants to do all it takes to destroy all we have."

"That doesn't sound like Natasha," Michelle said suspiciously.

"I know there's more to the matter. We are meeting for lunch tomorrow. He promises to explain everything to me but in the meantime, urges me to ignore and avoid any form of contact with Natasha."
