Chapter 428 Grandpa Dave knew that he was going to lose after looking at the placements of Sean‘s white pieces.
‘He‘s so young, yet so intelligent.‘
However, it was not too late, and Grandpa Dave still had a chance to turn the game around.
Grandpa Dave got serious and moved his black piece. Molly had watched them play for quite some time now, so she could understand what was going on and her chess skills were improving too.
The battle between Sean and Grandpa Dave was so intense that Molly felt kind of intense too just from watching at the side.
However, it was not right for a spectator to make any comments in a chess game, so she tried her best to control herself and watched the game quietly.
Sean knew that it would not be easy for him to trick Grandpa Dave, so he had a backup plan. Grandpa Dave could not help but smack on his thigh after the game was coming to an end.
“You scheming fox!” Grandpa Dave was so angry that he started laughing. He did not expect that he would lose a chess game to Sean, but he enjoyed playing with Sean
very much.
Sean smiled faintly and said, “You‘re too kind.”
Having a better strategy was the way to win a chess game. There was no reason for Grandpa Dave to feel dissatisfied since Sean was clearly better than him. He was not expecting Sean to take a dive just because he was older anyway. Otherwise, the game would be pointless!
Molly was still looking at the chess board. The white pieces were like a pack of cunning wolves; the black pieces were like an ambush of vicious tigers. The wolves had the tigers surrounded in the end, and the tigers could not find a way to free themselves to defeat the wolves.
‘But… the game is not over yet.‘
Molly arched her brows as she said with her head down,” It‘s not a checkmate.”
Sean and Grandpa Dave started to be interested in the game again because of what she said.
“Is it?” Sean was curious.
Grandpa Dave was happy and surprised. “Are you sure?” He asked.
Sean started to look stern as he looked at the chess board seriously again. He picked up a white piece after thinking for a while before continuing the game. Grandpa saw that and he was delighted as he happily said, “Hahaha, even Molly knows how to play chess now. That move was not bad, and it looks like she‘s talented! Like grandpa like granddaughter.”
