Turning Of The Tide (Natalie and Trevon) novel Chapter 701

When Trevon and Frank came out of Lithern Club, it was already around 1 p.m. Hackett was in high spirits. From time to time, he would turn his head to look at them wearing black sunglasses on this cloudy day. They looked a little silly. The more Hackett thought about it, the more he found Trevon and Frank looked alike. The smile on Hackett's lips gradually became wider.

Sensing Hackett's mocking gaze, Frank and Trevon turned to shoot him a sharp glance through their black lenses. Hackett laughed out loud.

He didn't bother to suppress it anymore.

They walked toward the car.

Trevon stopped in his tracks and said something to Hackett, who had already opened the car door. It was something close to a request. Trevon's tone was very serious and his voice was very deep. "Hackett, give Jasper a chance. He will treat Ruby well."

When Frank heard this, he stopped talking. He was afraid that if he helped Jasper, it would backfire. So he waved his hand and got into the car. "Let's go. I'm going to recuperate. I have to take care of the gift you gave me."

Hackett recalled last night when Jasper looked for him. Jasper had said that he wanted to become the richest man for Ruby. Hackett sneered and said, "Whether he can be my son-in-law depends on his performance. If I didn't give him the chance, they would have broken up yesterday."

With that, Trevon placed his hand on the door frame and smiled. "Thank you."

Hackett smiled back and said, "Remember to bring me some midnight snack tonight. My appetite has been quite good recently."

Trevon narrowed his eyes and frowned. He did not expect this guy to make another request. "Are you done?" Trevon asked.

"I said I'm not angry anymore. I didn't say I'm not hungry. Deal or not?" Hackett said.

"I'll bring some, and fuck you." With that, Trevon got into the car and drove away.

Watching his two good friends leave, Hackett was in a good mood. He bent down and whistled. He tidied his hair in the rearview mirror and looked up at the dark clouds in the sky. Then he felt that the weather did not agree with his mood. "Looks like you don't understand my mood," Hackett mumbled.

At the base, the man who had been beaten up ran to get his wounds treated. He was wearing a black mask and black sunglasses, making him look like a celebrity who had secretly come to see a doctor.

Natalie's consultation room was pushed open. She thought it was a nurse. "Come in," Natalie called out, but there was no reply. She looked up and glanced at the person who came in. She quickly stood up. The man was wearing a mask and sunglasses, so she could not see the injuries below. "Why are you here? Aren't you going to work?"

Trevon sat down on the chair. Natalie walked over and closed the door. She was scared to see his face when she walked back to him. His eyes were red and so swollen that Trevon could barely open his eyes. There were also bruises around them. His cheeks were also swollen, and the corners of his mouth were broken. He was in a daze for a moment, and she could smell the cigarette on his body.

"Where did you go? Did you break into a bandit's den or something? I thought you quit smoking." Natalie held his chin with one hand and tilted it from side to side. She lowered her eyes and started to examine it. She couldn't help but raise her beautiful eyebrows.

Natalie even suspected that what she saw was an illusion. She didn't understand why Trevon had the smell of cigarettes and was even covered in injuries. She kept thinking, 'Was he going to the bandit's nest to save a hostage alone?'

Trevon did not push her hand away. He was happy to be touched and examined by her. He smiled and said, "I was beaten up by Hackett so that he won't touch your son."

As soon as Trevon said this, Natalie understood. She didn't know what to say in response, so she could only go get the first aid kit and treat his wound. "Didn't you say that you will have to go on a business trip in a few days? What should we do now?"

"Let the brat go for me. What else can we do? I'm already wounded like this. Are we going to scare our business partners away with my face?" Trevon replied.

Natalie was amused and patted Trevon's shoulder. "Didn't we already make preparations a year ago? If we can have a daughter-in-law like Ruby, the beating is worthwhile. It's our fault in the first place. We were selfish at that time." It was good that Ruby's family didn't tell Jasper to break up with Ruby.

After treating Trevon's wound, Natalie thought for a moment. "I'll go back later tonight. I need to see Sherri after work. Your matters have been dealt with. I should go deal with mine."

Trevon felt that he was a great contributor. He took the beating for his son and begged for praise in front of his wife. Then he refused to leave the office and kept saying that it hurt everywhere.

Natalie couldn't believe Trevon was old but still asked for a kiss to relieve the pain. Natalie indulged him for a while before she chased Trevon away and told him to go home and rest.

Trevon reluctantly went home. The pitiful look in his eyes before he left made Natalie want to laugh.

At almost 4:30 p.m., she called Sherri.

Sherri should be getting off work as well. Sherri picked up the phone very quickly and said in a coquettish tone that gave Natalie goosebumps, "Hello, what's the matter, dear?"

Natalie couldn't stand it and touched herself to make the goosebumps go away. "What happened? Why are you in such a good mood today?"

"When have I ever been in a bad mood? I have been in a good mood recently. You know it, right? Why are you looking for me? You call to treat me to a meal?" Sherri said.

Sherri continued to speak in a strange tone.

Natalie wanted to know if there was something wrong with her tongue. Why couldn't Sherri talk like a normal person? "I called to apologize," Natalie replied.

"Oh, you've done something wrong to me. Don't tell me you're keeping a rich young gigolo?" If what Sherri said were true, Natalie should have called Trevon, not her.

Natalie was lost for words.

Forty minutes later, Natalie rode Sophia's motorcycle to Athana Hospital and happened to see her best friend coming out.

She could see Sherri smiling brightly even when Sherri was on the steps far away. The same grin might be seen on the face of someone who had just won the lottery. Natalie stopped the motorcycle and got off. She took off his helmet, held it in her hand, and put the key in her pocket.

Sherri hid the key that she had been swinging in her hand into her handbag. She walked closer and held Natalie's hand. Natalie turned to look at her with a complicated expression. "Sherri, are you sure nothing special has happened recently? You are not in love again, are you?"

Natalie's butt was patted by Sherri. "No way. My sweet Hackett is so good in bed. Why would I want another man? Tell me, why are you looking for me? Have you thought it through and asked Jasper not to call me godmother but to take me as his second mother?"

Without waiting for Natalie to answer, Sherri turned sideways and looked down at Natalie's butt. She reached out and touched it again. It felt good. "Wow, it is firmer than I expected. It's maintained quite well."
