Twinkling Star novel Chapter 4

While Elizabeth was diligent and indifferent to fame and fortune.

Elizabeth had a boyfriend, who was her high school classmate. They had a relationship since they graduated from high school.

The two were admitted to different universities due to differences in scores. Fortunately they were in the same city and could get together every weekend.

Elizabeth studied in junior college, so she had more spare time than Conor who studied in undergraduate university, so, Elizabeth was in work-study program since she was a freshman to shoulder the cost of living of herself and Conor.

Conor said that because of his excellent performance in school, the head teacher applied to the school for him to take the postgraduate entrance exam in advance. Elizabeth asked for leave from the school to work. In addition to her own living expenses, she gave all the rest money to Conor.

Elizabeth and Conor had been in a relationship for almost year, which was Platonic love.

In the past one year, they only held hands and hugged.

Although Snow did not know much about Conor, she did not think they were good to be together.

Conor and Elizabeth were from village. A man needed his girlfriend to pay for his tuition would not have a prosperous future.

Now there was a pile of client lists waiting for Elizabeth to do.

Elizabeth smiled bitterly, “I had a client's design drawing needs to be ready today, so I have to catch up with time!”

“Watch your way and be safe! Oh, I ran out of my cleanser. Can I borrow yours?” Snow asked.

Snow picked up a cup and walked to the water dispenser.

If she was diligent like Elizabeth, she would be “tired to death”!

In fact, to a certain extent, Snow despised a girl from the countryside, like Elizabeth.

Although they had the same hometown, Snow lived in the town with her parents.

She grew up in the town, while Elizabeth was rustic, with no family background.

Regardless of dress, or behavior, as well as the scope of social circles, Snow was like a city girl.

Although Elizabeth was pretty, she paid no attention to dress and live a regular life. And she wanted to earn more money by working hard. She wished!

Although Snow was Elizabeth’s bestie, she did not understand Elizabeth and did not want to understand her.

She did not feel she was in the same world with Elizabeth.

She would marry a rich man in the future. So, she wore heavy makeup, dressed herself up, and made eyes at rich men.

While Elizabeth was plain. She only knew hard work every day and did not dress herself up, so no rich man would pay attention to her!

Only Conor with the same family background would notice her.

Elizabeth did not know about Snow’s mind, but she knew herself well.

She was down to earth and did things that she should do.

Snow opened the door and saw two men dressed in black suit and tie were looking at her seriously.

“Who are you looking for?” Snow smiled and became alert, blinking her eyes.

A man looked up and down on Snow. When he see the ancestral jade pendant of Marsh Family on her neck, he quickly bowed his head and said respectful, “Mistress, nice to meet you!”

“Mistress?!” Snow startled, looking at the man in puzzle, “What Mistress?”

The man explained with a smile, “You are wearing the ancestral jade pendant Young Master left to you!”

Ancestral jade pendant!

Snow looked down at the jade pendant subconsciously, feeling surprised, but she realized a serious thing.

The other side seemed to have a strong background, but this jade pendant was Elizabeth’s...

What should she do? Should she tell them the jade pendant was not hers?

After thinking for a while, Snow decided to explore the other side, “I don't understand what you are saying.”

“Mistress, we are from Lengs Group, and I am the butler of Young Master from Marsh Family. You can call me Lau. Young Master sent me here.” The man explained to Snow patiently.

Young Master asked him to pick up the woman who had save Young Master.

“Lengs Group?!” Snow was shocked but pleased, “Is that Lengs Group had business in amusement, business and politics, with net profit running the first in successive ten years of the country?!”
