She hasn't been in a good mental state these past few weeks, most of the time she was lost in her hazy illusions, all she could see was her dead father and that unborn baby.
Every time she thought about it, it hurt like hell, and it was even worse when she had to undergo psychological therapy.
It was all the pain that Brett had brought her. Originally, she wanted to use the rest of her life to take revenge on Brett, but this guy is as strong as a brick wall.
She overestimated herself and underestimated Brett's heartlessness. She deluded herself into thinking she could make his heart warm, only to find out that Brett has no heart at all.
"I don't owe you anything anymore, Brett, whatever I owed I've paid off."
Brett pretended not to hear, saying, "I know that you resent me. I'll make it up to you properly. Except for divorce and Kaley, I’ll give you whatever you want, I promise."
Izabella didn't want to talk to him anymore and leaned against the headboard of the bed. Her eyes were closed, as if wanting to sleep.
Brett waited a moment and was about to lower the bed when Izabella opened her mouth. "I want to be discharged from the hospital and go home."
"Okay."
Izabella went on to say, "Before we leave, I want to talk to Amelia alone."
Brett hesitated for a moment. Amelia might seem honest, but she's definitely not on his side, and no one knows what she'll say to Izabella about him.
"You don't agree?"
"I'll call her now." He had just promised Izabella, and he couldn't go back on his word.
Amelia came over after her patient consultation, kicked Brett out, closed the door, and the two of them chatted openly.
"Are you okay now?"
"Yeah," Izabella forced herself to stay awake. "I'm awake now, but I'm still a little slow to react."
