Izabella furrowed her brows in unease. Brett must've thought about these things too. If the video in her hands didn't serve any purpose, she really couldn't think of any way to win this lawsuit.
Everyone knew that Brett cheated, but as for evidence, she didn't have any photos or videos of Brett and Kaley being intimate.
As for Brett's feelings for Kaley, she couldn't see through that either. If Brett truly loved Kaley, why didn't he marry her?
"Ms. Salotti, there's no such thing as a sure win in this world. No matter what case I take on, I can't promise that I'll definitely win. I've explained the pros and cons of this case to you, whether or not to appeal is your choice." The lawyer paused for a moment before adding, "Another thing to watch out for is that Brett might try to bribe the judge."
Considering Brett's status in R City, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility. What's more, Brett's principle in life was only to do things he was sure about.
Izabella's expression dimmed, and her anxiety grew. She had already prepared for the worst, so this was nothing.
Izabella sipped her bitter coffee and asked hoarsely, "Mr. Arnold, what if I kill myself in the courtroom if the judge rules against the divorce?"
"Well..." Mr. Arnold was slightly taken aback, having never expected Izabella to have such an extreme thought.
He observed the delicate figure in front of him, her face devoid of emotion, a slight smile playing at the corners of her mouth, and a chilling gaze that sent shivers down anyone's spine.
Mr. Arnold let out a sigh and began to explain, "Divorce cases can be complex or straightforward. The real challenge lies in dividing the assets."
Izabella interjected firmly, "I don't want a single penny."
Had Brett truly driven a woman to such an extent over the past four years that she was willing to go through a divorce at any cost?
The lawyer had handled numerous divorce cases, but this was the first time he had encountered someone so resolute on getting a divorce and opting for nothing in return.
The lawyer assured her, "I will do everything in my power to assist you in obtaining a divorce."
Izabella said, "Thank you. What do you suggest I prepare for?"
The lawyer said, "It would be best if we could gather more evidence, along with witness testimonials."
Witnesses – Kaley was the first person Izabella thought of. She loved Brett, right? Surely nobody would be happier to see Brett get divorced than her.
