"Let Trista accompany you."
No matter how hard Kaley tried to ignore it, she could hear the coldness in Brett’s voice. She found it strange that Brett was willing to trade Izabella for her, indicating that she was more important to him. But why was there no caring words from him after saving her, and he became so indifferent?
Kaley suddenly felt a little hurt, sniffing, "Brett, can't you stay with me anymore?"
Brett took a deep breath, "I'm at the hospital watching over Izabella."
"Izabella was saved?" Her tone was full of doubt and unwillingness, she couldn't believe that Izabella had such a strong life to not be tortured to death.
The phone suddenly fell silent. Kaley realized her tone was not right and quickly changed the subject, "How is she?"
Brett didn't want to talk to her anymore, "She's fine, I'm hanging up now."
The sound of the phone being hung up came through the phone, Kaley clenched it to calm herself down. Brett didn't mention Izabella's condition, so could it mean Izabella was in danger now?
Kaley's gaze darkened as she thought, if that was the case, it would be great.
In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed. In these fifteen days, there was no sign of Izabella waking up. Instead, she had to be rescued several times.
Brett suddenly lost twenty pounds, completely emaciated. He was there for every surgery to save Izabella. Day by day, he gradually becoming desperate, as no one knew when she would be safe, when she would wake up or in which surgery she would die.
This surgery lasted from day till night, Brett leaned against the wall smoking, his hand holding the cigarette trembling. The cigarette burned his fingers and he let it burn until it extinguished before coming back to his senses.
In the face of life and death, even the strongest was helpless.
Izabella was in danger time and time again, and he had no way to do anything. He suddenly squatted down, feeling like he had fallen into a never-ending nightmare.
He held his head, feeling exhausted, and closed his eyes. His entire heart felt so cold that it couldn't generate any warmth on its own.
Izabella, please don't leave me.
Please give me a chance, let's start over, this time I'll love you more than anything.
At two o'clock in the morning, Izabella's heartbeat was restored once again under the doctor's rescue.
