Chapter 137
Zachary didn’t know how to react. He had been hiding in the car for so long, and hadn’t noticed him.
yet Kiki
“I heard you calling Mom this morning. It sounded urgent, so I followed you into the car,” he explained.
“You brat! Don’t do this ever again. It’s dangerous,” Kiki warned. She put him in the child’s seat and drove to his kindergarten, t
“Don’t worry. Your mom is fine. She just had an allergic reaction,” she said.
“Why would she have an allergic reaction?” Zachary asked.
Zachary knew that Yvette was allergic to seafood. Aside from that, she wasn’t allergic to anything. Had she eaten something that contained seafood?
Kiki had promised Yvette that she wouldn’t tell him, but it seemed like he had already figured it out. Thus, she had no choice but to come clean.
After hearing what had happened, Zachary’s eyes filled with concern. “When can I see Mom, Kiki?” He really wanted to hug Yvette right then and let her know he was there for her.
“You’re not allowed to visit her for now. Just wait a few days.
“Fine. Zachary felt a little disappointed.
Meanwhile, in the hospital, Xavier frowned when he saw the rashes all over Yvette’s body.” Why are they still there?”
“It’ll take at least half a day for them to go away,” she answered.
Earlier, the doctor had told Xavier that even though those rashes were all that they could see, only Yvette herself knew how unbearably itchy they were. It was worse than being in severe
pain.
Xavier could never have imagined that his first time cooking would result in Yvette getting hospitalized.
“What else are you not able to eat?” he asked
Yvette was stunned for a moment. Then, she shook her head.
Xavier was about to ask something else when his phone rang. Yvette saw his phone screen and noticed that it was Daphne.
He grabbed his phone and walked to the balcony before answering the call.

She had no idea what they were talking about, but when Xavier returned, he said, “I have something to do today. Mark will help you with the discharge procedures later and take you back to Dewberry Manor.”
“You don’t have to-”
Before Yvette could finish, Xavier interrupted her. “I decided to get you a different driver. Mark will assign you a new one.
After all, her previous driver worked for Claude.
Xavier had been set on getting her a different driver ever since she had gone missing the other day.
Yvette gulped. She restrained herself once again and didn’t fight back. Xavier had always been a decisive person. He never stopped to consider what others wanted.
Not long after Xavier left, Mark showed up to help Yvette get discharged. He then assigned
her a new driver.
*Please feel free to tell me if you need anything, Ms. Snyder,” he said.
“Okay,” Yvette replied. She then got out of the car and went into Dewberry Manor.
The manor was unusually quiet that day. She couldn’t fall asleep, so she worked on composing music again.
However, she hadn’t been at it for long when she heard the door opening downstairs.
She thought that Xavier had come home, so she didn’t pay it any mind.
It wasn’t until there was a knock at her door that Yvette looked over. She realized that it was Shannon, who was all dolled up and wearing a bodycon dress.
It was their first time meeting face–to–face ever since Yvette had left a few years ago.
Shannon hadn’t thought that Yvette was still alive, much less that she was actually living at Dewberry Manor as Daphne had said.
“Let’s have a chat.” Shannon walked into the room and sat down on a chair.
Yvette was sitting across from her. “What do you want to talk about?”
