Chapter 197
It was eerily quiet in the house.
Suddenly, Xavier realized he only knew that Yvette liked flowers, wanted to visit her old house, and wanted to go to Tenko. Other than that, he didn’t know what else she liked.
She realized how awkward he felt as well, so she casually said, “Didn’t we agree that we wouldn’t continue being husband and wife anymore?”
He could feel his throat dry up when he heard that. “What do you mean by that? You were the only one
who decided on that.”
If everything had to be agreed on by both parties, she wondered why he could decide to see Daphne by himself.
Yvette pursed her lips tightly and looked pale. “Alright. We still have 19 days to go. I hope you can keep your promise by then. I’m going to cook now.”
Then, she entered the kitchen. Xavier felt more and more frustrated, and he hurriedly approached her.”
Let me do it.”
Yvette was stunned. When she returned to her senses, he was already in the kitchen. She looked at the man in a suit standing in the kitchen and thought it looked weird.
But since he wanted to cook, she was too lazy to reject his idea.
She figured he would get tired of it after a few days. Then, things would go back to the way they had been, and she would have a reason to leave.
Xavier was excellent when it came to doing business. However, he was mediocre in the kitchen. It took more than an hour for him to finish preparing breakfast.
“If it’s bad, we can just call someone to deliver breakfast,” he said after taking a seat.
Yvette looked at the oatmeal that looked bland and the eggs that seemed to be burned. There were also the seafood tacos from last time that were barely edible. Then, she remembered how Daphne had once posted on social media to brag about how great Xavier was at cooking.
“Don’t you know how to cook?” she asked suspiciously.
He froze. “Of course.” He lifted an eyebrow, cut the burned part of the eggs, and put them on his plate. Then, he passed it to Yvette. “You should have this.”
She looked at him as he swapped his eggs with hers. Then, he started cutting away the burned parts again. Xavier could feel her eyes on him, and he explained, “I just need some practice.”
There was no way he would know how to cook. He had seldom entered the kitchen throughout his life. Yvette didn’t ask about it anymore. Just as she was about to have the oatmeal, he reached over to her.
“Don’t have that. It’s cold. I’ll call someone to deliver us some food.” He had tasted it just now and realized that he had put salt in it instead of sugar.
Before Yvette could react, Xavier had already thrown the oatmeal into the trash can.
Then, he went outside to call someone to deliver some food. He regretted not doing that in the first place

instead of wasting his morning away.
Yvette walked to the living room and looked at Xavier through the window. She thought that he was acting weirder than usual.
The leaves were falling outside. When Xavier turned around, he met her gaze.
He gulped a little and remembered something. Then, he said to Mark, “About what I told you last time, you can arrange for it now.”
